Yeah, right! I was thinking more along the lines of kiselsol and chitosan but wondered what effect these might have on the lungs. Certain they weren't manufactured for this......

You probably come accross lots of flavourings and additives if you're a home brewer. Is there such thing as liquid wine flavouring? If so is it free of junk or is it full of additives?
Finings in general are frequently made from fish bladders so don't contain a lot of chemical and yes, there are some interesting flavours I am considering trying. Scotch, rum, ....

That sounds very interesting, I wonder if home brew flavourings are more concentrated than food flavours. Do keep us up to date with your tests, this might be another useful tool in the esmoking arsenal.

Home brew flavouring DO tend to be highly concentrated. A 10 or 15 ml sachet is designed to treat several bottles of liqour. I think I'm going to have some fun with this just as soon as I can get the nic-juice cleared. Will keep you posted.

Well I've been trying the xylitol in my mix and so far the outcome is not very promising. It tastes lovely, nice and smooth and not sickly sweet but it's clogged my atomiser. I might try a mix with less xylitol than before but to be honest I'm not confident that it'll do the job.

Kate, I've come up with a mix that seems to work re nicotine, but can't get any taste from it. Do you use flavourings with your glycerine? If so, where do you get them in Brit? I added Vanilla extract from Sainsburys but can't taste it at all. Tried the extract on its own but still no taste or "bite" (loads of vapour though).

Screw the naysayers, I'm with you, Posh! I want high nicotine liquid with caffine in the mornings, and low nicotine with chamomile essence at night. Kill two birds with one stone.

Apparently alcohol can cause vapour. So dripping flavours neat can still work without pg and vg.

I use vanilla essence at the moment Fatty, from here - Ndali Vanilla Extract - Lakeland, the home of creative kitchenware. It can also be found at Ocado. Ocado: Fairtrade Nadali Vanilla Extract (Product Information) To be honest the flavour isn't strong even when dripped neat. It's smooth and subtle, no bite. I like it, it's a matter of personal taste I think.

I also bought quite a few flavours from the candy flavour section at Barry Farm in the States, their postage charges aren't too bad. Grocery Store Map of Barry Farm Foods I haven't tried them yet so I can't say how they'll do. Unfortunately Bickfords flavours from the US are very, very expensive to ship. They get top marks for not leaving crud behind when vapourised I've heard.

If you like chocolate flavour you can get Star Kay White's Pure Chocolate Extract from Ocado. Ocado: Star Kay White Chocolate Extract (Product Information) I tried this briefly, dripping neat on my atomiser. It was quite strong, a cocoa taste, not very sweet but the aftertaste lasted ages and lingered in my atomiser so I wouldn't recommend using it neat. I think it might be nice diluted in a mix.

I was at the dentist today and asked her about the benefits of xylitol in regard to sensitive teeth. She said that it was just a non-harmful sweetener and not an active ingredient for coating or protecting teeth.

It was gunging my atomisers anyway but at least I can say I gave it a go, been there, tried that, got the t-shirt. Back to the drawing board.

Does anyone know anything about tinctures or Bach Flower Remedies? Is there any mileage to be had from inhaling them? Just wondering about the theory, not necessarily intending to do it.

How's it going with the home brew flavourings Fatty, anything to report yet?

Just to be a bit anal and to try to tie a few of these threads together, here are links to some threads that might be interesting to anyone considering making their own juice -
