Menthol crystals

I want to add to this. I purchased some menthol crystals off Ebay, added them to some unflavored e liquid and cut it to the mg I wanted.....It's NOT the same as the pre mixed menthol e liquids I have purchased in the past. Something is MAJORLY missing, I also tried adding some LorAnne mint choc chip flavoring (per someone suggestion) and that helped, but it's still missing something.....Freedom smokes menthol is GREAT!!!! So is Cash's True Menthol. God I wish I knew their ingredients.....LOL!

This is my first post here, but been reading the forum's for a while now. I've been smoking e-cigs now for just over 3 months, and tried just about everything - sooo don't want to ever go back to smoking analogues. I've tried some mixes from china, us, uk, and many of mine own concoctions. I'd much prefer to use my own mixes because I feel that at least then I know exactly what's gone into them, but up until today I just haven't been able to make something that has a throat hit, no matter how hard I've tried. But, I've finally cracked it!

Today's batch was 5 ml's and had the following ingredients to produce a 15mg liquid:

- 1.3 ml (26 drops) TW platinum ice (54 mg)
- 1.3 ml (26 drops) PG
- 1.3 ml (26 drops) VG
- 1/2 dozen drops of high alcohol white spirit (had to hunt and hunt in oz for something similar to everclear and found something from poland in the end!)
- about .9 ml pineapple lorann's (17 drops or so)
- 1 drop of menthol liquid (didn't buy crystals, hard to get in oz, unless you buy vast quantities over the internet so ordered a ready made liquid of menthol in ethanol). Even 1 drop is probably a smidge over the top but it's ok, I'll probably add one drop to a 10 ml batch in the future.

What was different to previous batches, well I finally ordered some PG from TW, and the menthol. Altogether yummy!

Can you make a 0 nic menthol? How do you do that?

Sure,

0 Nic Menthol eJuice:

20% VG
80% PG
4% Menthol concentrate.

Menthol Concentrate:
Crush the menthol crystals to a fine power, (I put them in a ziplock bag and use a roller pin) Then take a 10ml bottle and fill it full of the menthol crystal powder. Add PGA (Pure Grain Alcohol, Everclear) until the crystals are saturates and free float. Keep adding until the bottle is full. Cap and shake, and wait the PGA will disolve/melt the crystals.

I have a pound left out of the original 3 pounds I bought a year ago from Herbal Accents

I used 100 proof vodka and menthol crystals today to make a drop in soluion for later mixing...

I used ~7.5ml vodka, and 5ml crystals, nuked it and let it sit.

I have 3 distinct layers, a very clear layer on top of an opaque layer, and a "sheet" of white/opaque inbetween them. Which layer do I want to use?

Thats because Absolute alcohol is 200 proof, or 100 % pure ethanol, 100 proof is 50% alcohol and 50% water. The water is seperating from the menthol crystals. I used to get two distinctive layers not 3. Hmmmmmm I would take a syringe and remove a little from each layer and see which has an oily feel to it. The one that does is the menthol.
I use everclear to cut mine and it does not seperate since it is 190 proof. I have been doing it this way for nearly 2 years now. And have gone through about 6lbs of menthol crystals.

I had some that separated, I cut it with a little more Everclear. I have been trying to remember the term for maxing out the amount of menthol that can be absorbed?/melted? by the liquid.

I am sure it will come to me in the middle of the night when there is no one to tell! And I will forget again.

Thanks, guys... saturated solution.... now I can find something else to wonder about.....
It didn't develop back to crystals but would have a small layer of thicker looking liquid in the bottom and if I shook it up it would be a tad bit cloudy... Didn't take much more liquid to get it to stay clear and liquid....
But of course then I found out that peppermint was more what I wanted to replace my menthol cigs, not just menthol, so now I have more than a lifetime supply of menthol, mixed liquid and crystals.
