So yesterday I was in CVS (a local drug store in Illinois). I asked what area of the store that I could find PG in. I got a weird look from the pharmsist and was told after he looked it up that it is only sold by perscription only!!!! WTF?!?!?! I thought with what I have read on here that it is available at any store like Walgreens? Whats the deal people? Please HELP! I am trying to understand what the he!! is going on here. Did they just out law PG also? ![]() |

I don't know, but I can say that about 3 weeks ago I went in a drug store that does mixing and asked for PG. I could have sworn I heard the (probably) pharmacist mumble something to my cashier guy like " yeah, we can still sell it over the counter." I decided I was just imaging things, but now after you say this it makes me wonder if maybe she really said that. Obviously, the key word there was "still." I don't really know how they could make an issue of it since it's sold for use on cattle.

I went to Wallmart and they said no way. They need it and I could not get it. I asked if they could order it and they said "No way". I went next door to a Cub store and they placed a order for it. I have found that I like VG for cutting better and it is at many more stores. Most natural food stores or Co-ops will have VG.

VG is usually sitting right there on the shelf at WalMart and Hobby Lobby for sure. It's not really a problem.

SOOOOO Why is PG being restricted? I guess I should go to screw-mart and check and see if they have it. The only thing I am worried about is if it is food grade. I don't want to buy anything less than that. Any ideas? |

At Hobby Lobby, VG is in the candy and baking supplies. It's a small 2-ounce bottle, so you really have to look for it. At my store, it's at about knee level. It says glycerine in big letters. It's Wilton's brand. Just ask if they have Wilton's baking and/or candy supplies. At WalMart, VG is in the first aid supplies maybe near Band-Aids. It's for skin protection. It's a bigger bottle than the Wilton's but still only about 5-6 inches high.

too funny I've been everywhere between the two small towns I live in,, not finding VG didn't suprise me.. it was not meeting a single person younger our older then me who knew what VG was that really suprised me..... When they asked what I need it for I tell them I am making home made natural hand cream,,, which is true for it's usuage... incase anyone wants to use that reason instead of I want to cut nictoine with it..

According to others, Tractor Supply sells it to, much cheaper. After your post I'm thinking I'll just go there and get a gallon. | |
