    Default Nic base percentage question

I vape 70/30 pg/vg stuff at 18mg. I'm going to buy about 500ml nic base in 60mg, I have the option to get the nic base in 70/30. Now is this the most efficient mix of nic to buy? I'm thinking if I get the right formula of nic base I could skip buying vg at all and just mix pg and my nic base to get my 18mg with 30% vg. Is this possible?

Or should I just get 500ml of that 70/30 nic base in 18mg and just add my flavor to that? I imagine there'd be some good savings in buying lots of nic base at a high nic % and mixing it down to a lower %. I want this to be as cheap for me in the long run.

Finding the cheapest way to mix your oun is only part of the problem (part of the fun?).

Read up on DIY mixing, read a tutorial or two, practice with one of the on-line calculators.
Being able to calculate the final strength of a mix, as well as PG/VG percentages will be necessary to know what you are going to end up with, before you end up with it

Get the math down before making your purchases.

Another issue is that a lot of flavors are PG based. If you use 10% flavor about 7% of that is PG.

Practice the math, then select your vendor for the base Nic.
Start using mg/ml for strength, and ml for volume. It will help later on to keep things straight.

60mg/ml nic base in 100%VG, and some PG would be an easy route to take.
Twice as much PG as the 60mg/ml Nic/VG base would give you 66% PG, 31 % VG, for a strength of 20mg/ml. Add 10% flavor and you're about right on your target.
    Have fun, be safe.

Ok, I've played around with the calculator, but I'm not using it correctly to answer my own question. I've read the faqs and I'm not gleaning the info I want. The question I asked is pretty cut and dry: If I buy my 60mg nic base in a specific formula, and taking into account the pg volume of the flavor, can I avoid buying vg at all when I'm mixing down to 18mg strength in the end 70pg/30vg product. What formula of nic base should I buy?

I know one way to answer my own question and that is to mix up my own 70/30 pg/vg mix with no nic, and use that in addtion to the pg/vg nic base, quick and simple, I'm just using the second base liquid to lower the nic % of the first, then flavoring to taste. But if I bought the nic juic in a higher percentage of vg it strikes me I should be able to avoid mixing in vg to the second base. Hence the efficiency thing, if you can tell me how to make this calculation using eJuice Me Up I'm all good.

Without doing the math myself, I'm pretty sure what you are wanting to do is possible. We don't have enough information to tell you what VG/PG ratio to get though. It would depend on how much flavoring you put in. It would also require that you use the same percentage of flavor for every juice you make (or else be willing to deal with variations in VG/PG ratio if different percentages of flavoring were used)

Ok, I think I just asked a dumb question, sorry. Grabbed another calculator and it looks like I can just buy 100% vg nic base, and the vg in that is sufficient when I mix it with 100% pg to get down to the the 70/30 pg/vg mix I want.
