    Default DIYer Faves???

Well I've decided it's finally time to begin the journey into DIY. I've read, and read, and read, I think I'm finally ready to jump in. I have one lingering question though, who has the most authentic flavors? I'm a foodie I really like authentic fresh foods and flavors. Nothing frustrates me more than getting a weak juice or a juice that tastes like it comes out of a can, plasticy, or medicinal flavors. Could you please recommend your vendors in order of preference? Thanks so much!

    • Perfumers Apprentice

    • Capella
    • WizardLabs

Well, I'm not really a guy you should really listen to as I have only tried 3 different flavor companies (Capellas, Vaping Zone, TPA).

But, from the DIY I have been doing for the past few months, Vaping Zone had the most full and authentic tasting fruit flavors, such as peach, pear, and strawberry. TPA is good to and their flavors are very unique so you might have a lot of hit and miss with them (at least I have). Capellas has the absolute best desert flavors, if you like stuff such as Vanilla Custard or Cream flavors. I've read through a lot of posts here saying that Lorann's is subpar compared to Capellas, FW, and FA, although I wouldn't be able to judge that.

If you have the patience, I would recommend reading through the threads on each specific flavor company. I did, and although I took a chunk out of my time and paycheck, I was not disappointed.

    In order of preference

    Capella
    FlavourArt
    TPA for tweaking
    Signature for tweaking

I gave away all my LorAnns It took too much to get the right tastes and much of it has food coloring which I do not like.

Another +1 for Capella. I use Flavor West a lot lately as well, they have some wonderful flavors. FA has a few that I love, but I don't use much from them. I have a lot of TPA flavors as well, some I use in lots of recipes, some I use sparingly.

TPA TFA and signature are all one in the same.

    Good luck on this question.
I think TFA aka The flavor apprentice and FlavourArt have the widest selections. I find Capella is great for newbs as you can pretty much mix and go on several of their flavors. I have several Lorann favorites, English toffee & Pina Colada come to mind. FlavourArt tends to be a bit more robust than TFA or Capella in my opinion. I don't know of any DIYer that uses just one flavor company and I suspect you will do the same. Each company & flavor is different. Wizard lab's is a good place to start...reasonably inexpensive to try lots of TFA flavors in 8ml glass vials, so if you don't like it you're only out $1.50 and you get a glass vial to keep.

Yeah I have a ton of TFA already. Was using it and LorAnns and became unhappy with the amounts I needed to use, the food coloring in the Loranns and the results. I've already given away the LorAnns. The rest I can use up in tweaking over time. I won't need to buy any TFA/Signature for a long long time.

Capella's is very very good in taste and quality. I like it very much already and I've only used it for a month or so. It gives me excellent results.

FlavourArt is very concentrated, I need to use very little of it and it gives me great results.

Taste is subjective when it comes to juice. I'm going to use the materials that taste best to me, are economical to use and don't add stuff I don't think I need, like Red 40.

    YMMV

If you ask 100 people this question, you'll probably get 100 different answers. I agree with Sidetrack -- don't limit yourself to just one flavor company. All of them have good flavors and bad. Also, I'm pretty sure WizardLabs uses TPA/TFA.

I don't see Nature's Flavors on your list and imo the flavors I've tried are all very clean-tasting. I really like them. Their fruits especially seem more natural tasting to me than others I've tried.

We started with Loranns because we could grab some locally. Big mistake and a total waste. Lousy flavors and took so much concentrate to even taste anything at all that we had to mix it with 100% vg or it was like water. Loranns sucked big time for us. Going to try some flavor art next time.

Thank you all so much! I know that opinions vary but this really helps to narrow down the field! There are so many choices and anything to avoid unnecessary mistakes is helpful!
