Tobaccoless Tobacco Flavor?

This may sound ridiculous, but has anyone found a tobaccoless tobacco flavor?

I love the taste of tobacco, but am trying to determine if it's possible to come up with a liquid that tastes like tobacco while remaining entirely tobacco-free, i.e. no tobacco absolute. This would potentially have several benefits, such as avoiding any lingering nitrosamines or nicotine (for the zero-nic crowd) and being able to classify the liquid as not a tobacco product for regulatory purposes.

I know that Johnson Creek's current formulas are tobacco-free, but they also don't taste like tobacco (not to me, anyway). I was told that there are no tobacco ingredients in ECOpure either, though I haven't gotten to try that yet.

Thoughts?

I love EcoPure, but they're not even reminiscent of tobacco if you ask me.

Give it time, both to grow on you and for your taste buds to grow back. Unless you are using the Fresh, which is unflavored, it has a very subtle flavor. My wife and I both really like the Rich and I like the Menthol. Both are very light. Funnily enough they have recently come out with a Mild, supposedly like Rich only less intense

Johnson Creek seems to have a corner on that market, they removed all tobacco from their flavorings....I have no idea where their nicotine comes from. That's why I'm in DIY right now, they just ruined everything for me so make my own now. They even added PG to the VG. Not good for me.
