    Default Freezing 100mg nicotine base

Do I have to worry about expansion when I freeze my VG nicotine base? When freezing water in closed bottles I know you need to leave 25% room for expansion, just wondering if VG expands the same way.

Your freezer doesn't get cold enough to turn it solid, so there's no expansion. Even if you could get it cold enough--about minus seventy degrees--VG shrinks when it freezes, so you'd actually get a core of the stuff rattling around in a slightly depressurized bottle.

    Freeze away!

Edit: Ditto with PG, except that freezes around -35. Most freezers are around 0.

Water is almost unique in that it expands when frozen. PG, VG, nic solution do not expand when frozen, and MorpheusPA is correct in saying that they will not turn solid in a home freezer.

Once you freeze your nic, don't open the bottle again until it comes back to room temperature to avoid condensation in the bottle

yea freezer is fine and is the preferred method for long turm storage in dark glass bottles with no air,
if you are using the bottle often then just the fridge would be fine

Yup, I have brown bottles ordered and was planning to fill to the brim, then place the bottles in a vacuum sealed bag. I could conceivably purge the oxygen with my homebrewing CO2 setup but I don't think it's worth the effort.

Multitudes of smaller bottles is better than larger too.

This way, you need some nic, you grab another 30mL. The rest of the batch isn't exposed to air or out of the freezer and still in optimal condition.

Probably be fine storing them in larger containers, but air will inevitably be in there as the solution is removed.

Gleaned this info from the lovely folks at Wizard Labs.

Good advice. I got 100ml bottles. I'd love to find some tiny glass marbles to drop in there to take up the air space created once I start using them.

Also, dropping one tiny bottle is better than a big one...
