    Default Attn: Cartomizer juice types!

This is the best place I could think of to post this - please move to wherever you think best if need be.

I have been using and refilling cartomizers with various e-juices that are homemade, and from Drew at NHaler.

I have found out something important I think everyone should know about so you get the most out of your cartomizer... make sure you are using 'clean' juice is the best way I can think of to put it, or your draw becomes a bit more difficult, the cartomizer stops wicking properly, and you cannot vape more than once or twice before the cart gets super hot.

Ok now - Drew's stoof from NHaler - no problem. I have now refilled a cartomizer 8 times and it is still as tasty as the first time I popped it on my battery.

    My stuff:
50/50 PG + VG, butter rum loranns. - No problems, but cart starts getting 'weird' after about 4 refills.

PG, Dist. Water, flavoring - No problems, 5 refills and counting.

VG, Dist. Water, flavoring - No problems, 5 refills and counting.

PG +VG, Vodka, flavoring - Started getting 'thick' draw around 4th refill and is not wicking properly.

I have 2 carts for each of the above mixtures. Both carts are reacting the same way in each scenario so I don't believe it is just the oddity of the cartomizer.

SO - in short: I believe that PG+VG mixtures, and probably if you were to use too much of say an oil base or what have you, since you are not changing out the filler material, etc. - The juice has everything to do with how well your cartomizer functions. So take this into consideration when refilling your carts and take all of this information for what it is worth.

    Take care,
    - Hap

Not sure how to answer this but here is my best shot:

Cartomizers are what you would order to work with a KR808D-1 / VK / etc.
I have received two kinds - they both look identical except some have 4 notches on the bottom for airflow, some have only 2. I used 1 each in the experiment. I do not know if there is a brand name for the carts, as I ordered them from a supplier. So I would not know what 'xxx china bran' they might or might not be.

I did try replacing the filler material one time, but it just ripped out the contents of the cartomizer with it. I will see if I can 'surgically' remove the filler and replace it with something else later today.

Today I plan on making my 'relax and play with e-cig stoofs day' as I've been doing overtime lately. LOL - I will post results of replaceing filler material later on whether I succeed or not.

    Take care,
    - Hap

yea i know what cartomizers are i wasn't sure if kr808d1/dpv9/etc. were the other only model for cartomizers other than the greencig or whatever its called...and yea, i heard the cartomizers atty's are much diff. than 3-piece models, if u can post a pic of the inside, that'd be great for those of us who only used 3-piece models before...let us know if u find a simple way to replace the filler...

UPDATE: according to below, its not possible...but with greencig carts, which work like normal attys, it is possible...but id still like a pic of the VK/dpv9/etc. cartomizer attys if anybody can find?

    Completely refurbishing/rebuilding/restuffing a cartomizer?

Ok - my results are that yes - you can replace the filler - NO it is not worth it
Basically on all of the carts I have pulled apart now that have the 'atty through the center' design, the atty coil has burned through its protective wrapping material and started to burn the filler. I did go ahead and try replacing the filler with batting material, it packed in there nicely and I got two nice draws and then a lovely burnt and charr taste along with it *blech*

So, I would say it is not worth the hassle to try and replace the filler material on these. Although I am now very interested in taking a look at these greencig carts now!!

    Take care,
    Hap
