Thanks Hilway, there are a lot of great people on this forum and I enjoy the company

Jaaxx has made us the Hack-O-Matic recipe calculator and that's great for messing around with quantities - Hack-O-Matic E-Liquid Calculator

Just leave out the commercial eliquid to get rid of the nicotine and replace with more glycerine/propylene glycol.

    You'll get something like this:

    10% distilled water
    10 - 20% LorAnn candy flavouring
    40% glycerine BP/USP/food grade
    40% propylene glycol BP/USP/food grade

You don't need both glycerine and pg, one or the other will do if you prefer. Amounts of flavouring will vary a lot, some are very strong and some very weak.

In the newcomer's forum, someone asked about the availability of organic juice and it's a very interesting point. We may be deluding ourselves thinking that vaping is better for us than smoking analogues, because noone can say for sure what we are inhaling.

Totally Wicked's e-liquids at least list the ingredients, fair play to them.

I also found a list of ingredients for the Spanish-made juices from freesmoke.eu (slightly confusing but might be worth a shot for the more health-conscious):
    Contents materials:
1% alcohol (however evaporated before inhale),
    Propylenglycol - acetyl Pyrazine
(flavour materials of the crust of the rye bread),
artificial one and natural edible flavour materials,
    ethereal oils, tobacco oil.

Love the ethereal oils, I think it means essential oils.

Does anyone know if the nicotine in commercial juices is actually extracted from tobacco or is it all synthetic? Or would that be too expensive due to low yields?

There are a few American (US and Canada) companies that grow organic tobacco, so it should be possible to brew some nice organic juice. So how about it - any enterprising people out there with the necessary know-how? I'm sure there would be a substantial market for something more natural.

Yeah LU, actually I do... It's no worse than the disgusting toxins in analogs, no sugar either, I got a sugar free one. We inhale mouthwash all the time when we brush with some types of toothpaste anyway. Seems fine so far.

There are some complicated sounding ingredients in commercial eliquid Falling. I think that the ones from China sound worse because they give us the chemical names for everything and detail all the flavourings. I'm sure if we read the full list with chemical names for other brands they would seem as bad.
    Ingredients in cartridges or E-liquid

The main ingredient in eliquid is propylene glycol, I have no idea if that can be produced organically. There's not much of anything else in there although it's possible to get organic flavourings.

Nicotine could be extracted organically but I bet we're a few years away from that being a viable option.

    Thumbs up Flavor oils

I was searching my pantry to see if I had any flavorings. I didn't have anything without sugar, but I did have a bottle by 'american spices'. I googled the company and got to americanspice.com. The price is about a dollar cheaper per ounce than Lorann. They have lots of choices and list the ingredients for each. The majority are sugar free.
 Smokefree since January 5, 2009!

How do you know it's not worse? None of us really know anything and only hope what the manufacturers are using has been tested as safe. And "so far" is pretty much irrelevant. We are really talking long term here.

I saw a newb who wanted to vape eye drops...another, ear drops. Yes, I do feel compelled to comment on unknown safety....particularly with those just starting out. But as I said to them....hey, it's your lungs...do what ya gotta do. I can only take care of mine.

Which is why I made sure it was alcohol free. So far, so good, and I have no intention of keeping it forever... this was a quick fix. I do need something with a tad more "bite" to it anyway. Little worried about the menthol crystal thing, some people seem to have gotten sick off THAT. I plan on checking out something that would be regularly used in cough drops, vaporizers, etc... Menthol Eucalyptus, or perhaps I might make my own MentoEuc juice from straight herbs bought at my local herb shoppe, done that many times for teas...

I do remember the post, but not the poster. Yeh, he was desperate for something to vape so he started looking around his kitchen....found the ketchup. Have we ever heard from him again? LOL
