VG/
PG ratios are personal IMHO, I use about 60%
PG and 40%
VG when I'm not mixing
PGA into the liquid.
Thanks Sjohnson, It's the Capella one I think and I'll start with 2 very meagre drops to 6 ml and see how that is. Yeah I will mix up PG/VG, just wondered how strong the Custard was...

Vanilla clarification...
Hiya all-
Pretty new to e-smoking & trying to figure out what sort of liquids I like & can stick with to replace my analogs as much as possible. Vanilla would be one of my top choices. But I've read through this whole thread & am more confused than ever!
First of all, many liquids (even 0 mg) seem to have a vanilla + smokey taste. (Same for other flavors also - cherry + smokey, etc. not just vanilla. I guess it's somewhat like a flavored pipe tobacco taste). I really don't want that. Would prefer just a plain old vanilla flavor. (Yes, I like my sweets).
Sounds like there are some good commercial liquids & flavorings mentioned in here, but are they straight-up vanilla or vanilla with that odd taste?
I'm also confused about the whole vanilla, vanilin, etc. I'm sure I can find all manner of flavorings & extracts here in town without as high a cost & dealing with shipping & all, but I'm unsure about what is safe & what isn't. If I decided to make a trip to my local grocery store, hobby store, or health food store, for some experimenting, what do I need to look for & what do I need to avoid. And if I do get some ... I dunno, artificially flavored vanilla or flavoring or whatever... do I need to mix it with something or.... ugh?
I have read through the thread here & have gotten the high points, but some of the specifics were just discussed in terms a newbie brain isn't understanding.
Any clarification would help a lot. Thanks! -- RR

If you are looking for a ready made juice that is just plain old vanilla, I recommend vanilla from MyFreedomSmokes. Me, personally, I ask for double flavoring, but I like a very strong taste. MFS's regular stremgth might do it for you. Don't bother with Dekang's vanilla. It tastes like my grammy's perfume!
Good luck and welcome to
ECF and vaping

Thanks very much for the recommendations. There are so many - it helps a lot to narrow things down!
I was also curious about the vanilla flavorings one can get in the grocery store, hobby stores, etc. I read the discussion about them here, but am still a little confused about vanilla vs. vanilin, etc. Just trying to figure out what is safe for mixing if I wish to modify a flavor or something.
Thanks much for the reply & for the welcome - RR

redraven,
Don't use the grocery store stuff. There has been some debate on what is safe. Also, it is not very concentrated, so you will end up with more flavoring than the vape producing, nicotine containing juice. I am sure you will be happy with MFSs vanilla if you get double flavor. It should be quite strong enough. If you think it might be too strong, go ahead and order double flavor vanilla and a little bottle of unflavored. That way if it is too strong, you can tone it down a bit. (All of MFSs stuff is very good and inexpensive) If you do want to DIY, go with HappyVaper. You'll still need to get some unflavored nic juice from MFS, because HappyVaper doesn't sell nic.
Hope this helps.

I tested a French Vanilla at E-liquid / Smoke Juice by Halo
that was exquisite. Keep an eye on the web site. They just opened for sales, and that flavor is not yet there. Hopefully, it will be very soon. I will be waiting for it also.

I know this thread is a month old, but I've been looking for a really good vanilla flavor. I am hooked on blu's vivid vanilla and have since started using juice and really want to totally get away from using any of the blu stuff. I'm going to put in an order for capella's juice. Does anyone else have any recommendations for any other sites for a good vanilla flavor? Thanks for any suggestions!

Honestly, so far only the Capella French Vanilla and particularly the Vanilla Custard satisfy my craving for real vanilla.
I know that Perfumers Apprentice is working on a vapable Vanilla but I have not tried their stuff yet.
