Hi. New to vaping but not to messing about with flavor stuff...these are based on Gum Arabic which tends to turn into concrete if allowed to dry out AT ALL. I don't think it's something I'd risk running through my atomizer.

I don't think all of them are made with the gum arabic. Just the concentrates while the flavoring is with alcohol but I would verify that.

An article I found on the gum arabic which does warn of allergic reactions and includes the following warning and case study:

A study reports on a male who experienced 4 allergic incidents after drinking coffee. Dual sensitisation to coffee and to the Gum arabic coating of roasted coffee beans was demonstrated by skin-specific IgE and by human basophil degranulation tests. Two serious anaphylactic reactions with cardiac arrest occurred, which were attributed to concomitant treatment with beta-blocking eye drops (Timolol). Beta-blocking drugs produce a loss of compensatory cardiovascular mechanisms and make those who take them resistant to the conventional treatment for anaphylactic shocks, which explains the serious accidents that occurred in this patient (13).

Allergic rhinitis, asthma and eczema caused by Gum arabic in workers in a candy factory have been reported (11, 14).

Occupational allergy from mist inhalation in printers has been reported and is called “Printer's Asthma” (15-17). Allergy reactions have also been reported in patients working in the pottery and lithography industries (12, 18) and occupational asthma in printers and carpet manufacturers (19).

Thanks scrubadub and parapo for the Flavourarts link and review. I have been planning to do more with making my own flavors and this sight looks promising. I just got some redbull 36mg and I don't know why but it was killing my atomizer so I thinned it today. No taste but the kick is still good and my atomizer has stopped acting up.

Sometimes you have to watch what you're posting here so as not to breed misinformation. If you had said that about the concentrates, then that would be a different story.

I'm sorry...I didn't see anywhere that specifically the extracts were being spoken of....and I should have been more specific in my own posting.

I received my order from FlavourArt today - shipping took 4 working days to the UK, which I thought was fairly quick. I have the following flavours:

Apple pie
Blackberry
Espresso
Lime
Lychee
Mandarin
Orange flower
Vanilla (Bourbon)
Vanilla (Tahity)
Vienna cream
Violet (hoping for that Parma Violet taste... Yum!)

Just noticed that the Mandarin doesn't specify whether it's water soluble.

Will be mixing a couple of batches tonight, so should be able to report back my impressions in a day or two. I'm a novice DIYer, so my first efforts may leave something to be desired

No, I've got an order in with Barry's Farm for some LorAnn flavours, but they're still en route to me.

Mixed up two batches so far. The first was a fairly low nic (9mg) Lime mix:

25% 36mg TW flavourless
10% Lime flavouring
35% VG
30% PG

It had a vaguely citrus aftertaste, but was too subtle for my liking so I added another .2ml of flavouring (I was making a 4 ml batch) - the flavour was still subtle, but I could definitely taste Lime this time, although again mainly as an aftertaste. Next time I do a batch I'll boost the flavouring to 20%, but that may be too much. Not a particularly sharp taste, but a good, clean flavour. Will be interesting to compare to the LorAnn Key Lime I have on order.

The second batch was a high nic (27mg) Blackberry mix:

75% 36mg TW flavourless
15% Blackberry flavouring
10% VG

I decided to go straight for 15% flavouring after my experience with the Lime. I immediately wondered if I had done the right thing as the flavouring has an extremely strong aroma. Having vaped happily away on this mix for the last hour, however, I think 15% is spot on. A very full-bodied berry flavour that rolls around the mouth - glad I ordered 30 mls of this one! Again, I've ordered the LorAnn Blackberry, so I will give a comparison when it comes.

So far I'm very impressed with the FlavourArt flavours - I'll probably mix some more later in the week (tempted to go for a Blackberry and Apple Pie combo ) and report back.
