Thumbs down Black paint more expensive than white?

Perhaps a supplier can explain why atomisers etc painted black are more expensive than the white equivalent? I've bought both and, apart from the colour, can't see any difference between them. Is black paint so very expensive in China? If so, perhaps we could export something to them for a change!

    3 words.

    Supply and demand.

We all wanted the black because it was hot and did not look like an analog. Demand for the black is high. The manufacturers have already made a kazillion white ones to cater to the crowd that wants it to look realistic. They have a huge supply of white. They raise the price on black and/or lower the price on white to make the white more attractive. It is their way of trying to influence our choice.

Now that the stainless steel look has hit the market and become the new fashion, black is still popular, but not as popular. Now they must make stainless steel less attractive to us by raising the price. They try to control demand by controlling price.

The wholesale prices are the same. It is the retial pricing that adds the premium.

BTW, it is quite easy to sand off the paint to get the platinum / silver look.
