    Default Snu Juice

I want to try this snu homebrew. I have been reading all the good information in many threads and don't see me having any problems doing this. However, I am curious about how many mililiters per packet I can expect. Snus are not cheap around here....as much as a pack of cigs.

Now in reading, most of the posts talk about how much nicotine people feel they are getting when they play with the ratio of packet to PG. I don't really care about the nicotine level, I can boost that. I am more concerened with getting good flavor. So what can I expect to get per packet, with good flavor, using Camel snus? Hoping to get at least 10ml per packet.

Will be using mostly PG with maybe a touch of VG and a drop or two of vodka.

    Thanks.

I don't know if you have seen this, but thought I would post anyway, it's very vague on strength.

Hi Maxx, I don't know about Camel Snus (even though I use it occasionally) but I do beleive that some of the tobacco flavors out there are made by macerating the tobacco in PG and straining the resultant juice through filters. I don't know the actual process beyond that but, I have experimented (because I'm cheap) with hookah tobacco. At a local 'pipe' shop (for tobacco use only) they sold shisha or (in english) flavored tobacco. It was in a sample size (about one big hookah bowl full) for a buck. I bought several sample flavors. This was before I bought 100 mg/ml nicotine juice from XtremeVaping.com. and some LorAnn flavors. Anyway, I soaked one flavor of one sample of the shisha in some VG and some hot water (about 50/50) and mashed it up in a small bowl with a fork. I then filtered the juice/tobacco bits through 3 coffee filters (at the same time) by twisting down and squeezing. I repeated this step one more time. What I ended up with was about 15 ml of flavored tobacco juice. I don't know if there was much nicotine in it but it did have a nice vapor. The shisha was flavored with vape-able flavoring so that contributed much of the flavor. It did have distinct undertones of the tobacco though.

I guess I could try some Camel Snus (mellow) I got in my fridge and see what that turns into. The shisha tobacco sample was about an amount equal to about 5 Camel Snus packs.

Anyways, you may want to check it out if there are any hookah shops in your neck of the woods in PA.

Thanks for the replies. It gives me a rough idea of where to start. I am wanting the tobacco flavor from the snus as I also got 100mg unflavored from Extreme and can always boost if I feel my homemade stuff is too weak in the nic department. Already using it to boost some other purchased juices. The main reason though.....if e-cig supplies are either banned or taxed to cigarette levels, I want to be able to DIY in the future. Best to be prepared.

And ashamed to admit....as a 25-year smoker....I had to Google "hookah". Sort of like a USB PT.....LOL

You won't get nic this way from snus or any other tobacco. VG or PG does not get the alkaloids, just the flavor. Vodka might get some of nic. An 8mg snus might get you 1 mg, if you are lucky. But even with filtering, you will get a lot of particulate, and in general tobacco flavored juices will tend to clog attys somewhat permanently over time. Tastes great, but best to devote an atty to that juice. And this is a rather expensive way to get vapable nic. People do, however, soak snus in nic juice to flavor it. Best to use swedish snus. I do not trust american snus to be as safe as swedish.

    Thanks...

Actually....I would be happiest not getting much if any nic from the snu. Makes it easier to calculate when I add the 100mg strength stuff. If I can get 5-10 ml of decent flavor per packet....with minimum nic, it will be good. I am stockpiling unflavored 100mg nic juice.

But since flavor is the subject. Do you guys have a suggestion for a good supplier of tobacco flavor (no nic) that is not an e-cigarette vendor? Basically a place that would not be affected by any tobacco bans, taxes, etc. Once again....planning for the future.

    Thanks.

I think FlavorArt is selling tobacco flavor. What you are looking for, I think, is called Tobacco Absolute. I've not used it, but Scubabatdan has used it a lot and has a good idea of relative amounts to use.

If you are wanting to store 100 mg unflavored for the long haul, you might be interested in my procedure for doing this:

    Smoke Juice Storage Tips

I outline how I do it for both long term storage and usage. 100 mg is very dangerous, and much consideration should be put into just having the stuff around. I did it with 100 mg VG, which is very thick and hard to work with.

    Good luck!

Yes.....storage tips also helpful. I just ordered a new bottle of 100 from Xtreme and plan to leave it sealed and store it. The current bottle I am working from still has plenty. Also ordered some PG to try out the snu mix. For whatever reason....I can get glycerin USP at all my local stores, but nobody carries the PG in any grade.

No children here and I am careful working with the 100 juice.
