Default Do I still need ADDITIONAL PG or VG?

    Hi all,

Probably a stupid question, but figured I'd ask anyway...

I purchased 30ml of unflavoured VG at 36mg. I then ordered some flavourings, (Capella Root Beer Float, Flavorart Cinnamon and Caramel and Perfumer's Apprentice Cotton Candy).

If I want to just keep it at 36mg, can I not just add the flavoring directly to the unflavored nicotine mixture?

I'm a HUGE newbie, my apologies if this has been posted a million times before!!

I'm new to DIY but from what I understand it would reduce it slightly depending on the % of flavoring you use. Don't add the flavoring directly to your bottle of nic juice or you run the chance of ruining the entire bottle. Start with 3-5ml and do your taste-testing at those quantities first.

36mg is a very high strength to vape and you will most likely find you need much less.

yes you can.. the extra pg vg is used for ppl that buy higher nic concentration unflavored that they cut down to lower strength

adding the flavoring will lower the nic concentration so that 36mg if you use 10% flavor will 32.4mg

but do as said above.. test with small bottles

If you add a 1%-flavour, you will end up with 35.64mg/ml liquid, if you add a 10% flavour, you will have 32.4 mg/ml, 25% flavour, 27mg/ml.

Which means if you really need 36mg liquid (which is fairly rare), you might consider either fairly concentrated flavours, or higher strenght nic juice.

Vote in the polls, vapers, we need numbers!

    THANKS GUYS!!

Having slightly less than 36mg is fine with me, I just wanted to make sure my 'theory' was correct, I could add the flavouring directly to the unflavoured base. (I know, I'll start small and add the flavours SLOWLY to the SMALL amount of base I've taken from the biggie!)

Just curious, but has anyone else tried any of the flavours I ordered? AND, (god**amed newbies!!!), is it true that you should let the new flavours 'sit a spell' or are they good enough to vape right away?

Not only am I an annoying newbie, I'm also impatient...sigh...

Some flavorings float or sink in VG or PG, and they don't exactly mix like coffee and milk or water and sugar. You can shake it to try and speed it along, but the sitting is usually helpful. I know it's annoying, I'm sitting here staring at my Cherry Cola mixture smelling it and wanting to vape it but I want to let it sit ... good luck.

This is good adice from PureVapor, I've found that I have to wait at least 12 hours before I can really judge the flavor of a juice that I have made. I found out the hard way with a small 3ml batch of black cherry that I made with flavourart flavor. I thought it tasted weak and kept adding flavor to like 10% before it tasted ok. The next day I vaped it again and the flavor was overwhelming. I usually use 70% VG to 30% PG in my base.

36 mg is REALLY high for a person just starting out. Most start at around 18 mg/ml.

You can buy VG at Wal-mart for thinning. You can then add your flavors and enough VG to get to the strength you want.

Just remember that the percent you cut the volume of your original e-juice is also the percent that you cut the strength of nicotine content.

So, if you want to cut 36 mg to 18 mg: That is a 50% reduction, so your initial e-juice would only be 50% of your new mixture.

Want to make a 30 ml sized bottle? You would start by adding 15 ml of your original e-juice to a 30 ml bottle, ad whatever ml of flavor to taste, then top off to 30 ml in the bottle with VG or PG, shake well and vape away.
