Default Trying to make 0mg eJuice... Need help

I've been trying to make 0mg eJuice but have not been able to acheive what I expected.

What I'm trying to do is make some 0mg VG based Ejuice. I am aiming mainly for flavour, vapour then throat hit in that exact order - mainly flavour. I bought VG from my local supermarket as well as some different (aussie brand Queens) flavouring used for cakes etc - these list "water, PG, natural flavours, glycerin" as the first few ingredients so from what I have read here on ECF I got the right type.

I can get massive vapour and decent TH when I add a little alcohol but no matter what I try I can't get any decent noticible flavour let alone anything close to say DeKang brand 0mg eJuice.

    For example I tried:

    7ml VG (70%)
    2ml Strawberry Flavouring (20%)
    1ml Vodka (10%)

This produced huge amounts of vapour, good TH but zero flavour. I played around with the concentrations and I even tried to boost the flavour concentration to 50% VG / 50% flavouring but still nothing.

    What is the issue?
Is the flavouring I've got no good?
Do I need PG or can I make good flavoured Ejuice with VG alone as the base?
Has anyone been successful in getting good flavour with just VG and flavouring alone (maybe even with a little distilled water/alcohol)?
Am I expecting too much with VG alone?

    Advice appreciated...

Some flavoring is not strong enough. McCormicks is one of them.
    I use Loranns and Capellas.

I must add that I would like to do this with VG alone cause it's much easier to obtain than PG.

Do I need to try a stonger brand like LorAnn to get what I want?

So if I use weak flavouring no matter how much I add I can't get the flavour to come through? Correct?

Is High concentration is key here?

Well, I guess if you up to 50% or something ... only you don't know that exactly what and particuarly how much of what is in those baking flavours.
If I were you, I'd check the usual suspects and order some decent flavour. They are not that expensive, although shipping to Australia might take time.

Also, you might want to check professional flavours, somebody in Australia is bound to sell them. But be careful with those - there is a shop in Germany who sells those, for example, and flavours are OK (although so far not FA quality) and very cheap - but they are to be added in the permille range, x:1000. Meaning, no way to use them without pre-mixes, and in those concentrations, it's very likely not exactly healthy to eat/drink/vape them on their own. (Of course, that's true for all flavours, but a bit more of a potentiel problem with those.)

... to add to that, VG does mask flavours in comparison with PG.

So has anyone sucessfully made any nic free eJuice using VG and say LorAnn alone (no PG at all) and acheived good flavour comparable to commercial products like DeKang if not better?

Can you provide an example of the concentrations or a link?

It has been done, but if you use LorAnn, you will inevitably end up with rather much PG in the liquid, anyway, because that is what many LorAnns and other flavours consist of. Even those professional permille-flavours I mentioned consist of like 75% PG.

The Guide to DIY Flavoring, sticky in this section, does list percentages for LorAnns, and pure VG would not need very much more flavour.

This brand is apparently far too weak. Their website recommends adding TWO teaspoons in 200ml (less than a cup) of coffee to add flavor. Most of the flavors we use would need maybe 1/8 tsp at most to flavor that much coffee. Vaping is smelling, not tasting, which calls for a stronger flavoring.

I recommend you find one of the brands others have used successfully. I don't live in AU, but I searched ebay and found this seller who has Butter Rum and Brandy, both usable flavors from LorAnn.

Thanks purevapour. This is the info I think I was after.

I think I will have to get a stronger brand as has been suggested. I found a seller on eBay that can ship to AUS -> 24 dram bottles for ~$22 + ~$15 shipping... Will give me plenty of flavours to sample for a decent price
