I noticed the tendency to leak into the bowl with the first one I had, so I soon developed the habit of "hanging up the pipe to drip dry" overnight. I've had no leakage problems with the bowls I bought to replace the one I dropped and cracked. I have been alternating them to even out the wear, so even though I'm approaching The Dreaded One Month Mark, they'll probably last thru December. I see no reason why they won't go longer still. I think the extra attention I have to give the 601 is a fair exchange for the drastically reduced price. It's really almost no effort at all considering all the crap I had to go through to keep my super-mini going much less producing a consistently decent vape.
However, given your experiences I'm going to start setting a few bucks aside towards the purchase of a genuine Ruyan. If the 601 is heaven, then the Ruyan should be Heaven with Bacon & Beer!
you are the passionate pipe-vaporer and if you continue with the daily treatment with your 601 you will be able to make the pipe last perhaps even over the 2 months, I really keep my fingers crossed...

I admit, I'm the lazy one amongst the vaporers. So I just leave my ruyan with batt and full cart laying around somewhere and forget about it (sometimes for 2 days), while I'm vaping my 510s. I could never do this with my 601.

Does the Ruyan use the same type battery and mouthpiece as the 601 as well? I've been using the 601's for a while... but the price drop on the Ruyan has got me interested.

yes they do fit. The orig. battery which you get whith the ruyan last much longer than any dx pipe batt. Don't ask me why, I don't know.

Some very interesting posts here. I can definitely attest to the 601 leaking into the bowl and leading to cracks. I even took the care to drip dry it every night (except for maybe 2-3 nights) and it started to crack in less than a month. Still works fine, but it's become a pain in the ass and the carts aren't wicking well enough for me.

The only thing I'd be worried about with the Ruyan pipe, is that the warranty is void if you use non-Ruyan carts/liquid. Not sure how they can determine that, but would suck to have to send it back after a week or two of use and have them tell you that your warranty isn't valid.

I discussed this warranty issue with Wayne from HG (Heaven Gifts). If there happens to be a faulty manufacturing which is usually found after the first few days there is no problem with warranty and immediate replacement.
I believe that if a ruyan is defective then from the beginning.

And according to Heaven's Gifts site, the Ruyan carries a 5-year warranty! Yeah, how they'd know it's not Ruyan liquid I couldn't tell ya.

I've pretty much decided to order one. Now I gotta choose between the original and the rosewood.

I really hope you'll enjoy yours like I do mine. Would be glad to hear from you once you got it.

Price, probably. When I first got started on the 601's, the Ruyan was over $300. If it were still that high, I'd probably not be getting one now. The drop to $150 sold me on it. I hope I have as much luck with mine as you've had with yours. I'll probably be hitting it hard, though. I still have couple of extra 601 atomizers sitting in my storage bin though

hmm glad I read this thread. I've been thinking about getting my father a 601 for christmas to try and get him vaping instead of smoking. Guess I'll have to look into it more before the time comes

There are official ruyan agencies all over the world who sell them for over $300. I know some folks who bought both (expencive one and the wayne ruyan) they say there is absolutely no difference in wood or technical quality between them neither outside nor inside.

Ruyan China claims that the ruyan from Wayne has not the same quality (?) what ever this means. Other suppliers assert that with the original Ruyan there is the possibility to replace only the atty inside. That makes no sense for me as you can't by the atty as a spare part or so and you still have to send back the whole pipe if there is a problem because only the ruyan agent has technicians who can replace the atty

Well, it may be right, that the ruyan pipe sold by Wayne (HG) does not have this replaceable atty, that doesn't make it less attractive.
