My only concern with the pipe is that every review I've read or seen on Youtube states
there's a serious loss of flavor. Anyone know if making a stronger juice helps get past
    that?

Perhaps this helps: I use Turkish Blend, Kent and M*boro liquids, and these are really mild flavoured tobacco liquids, in all my e-cigs (510/801 and pipe). All liquids taste different with different e-cigs depending on atty size IMO. If your only concern is a loss of flavor (which I cannot confirm with my pipe) you can choose a stronger flavoured liq. you just have to try out.

Edit: The original ruyan prefilled carts have a strong flavour but you don't get that huge vapour after exhalation as compared to other conventional pipe carts.

The draws on the DSE601 can be 'airy' and tend to mute some lightly-flavored liquids. My preference is flue-cured tobacco and RY4 flavors for my DSE601. Some users enjoy Johnson Creek Teneessee Cured and mint flavors for their devices.

the one from HG give les taste as the original one.
also the atomizer is completly different.
i prefer my original one, do the HG ones is much better then the 601

As I already mentioned I'been vaping my ruyan pipe 1 year now and there is only one liquid I use in it: the RY2 or so called PowerPuff. This liquid gives huge clouds even in the ruyan pipe and the flavor has a good tobacco touch (not sweet).

No one has touched this thread since last December, but here we go…..

I’ve been using the 601 since the first of April. Here it is almost the end of May and I’ve already burned out the first one and I’ve started on my second 601 with a third one in reserve.

So I bit the bullet and bought a Ruyan. Paid $250 total including shipping to Texas from China. I know it came from China because it was packed surrounded with a Chinese newspaper. (How the heck do they read that stuff?)

It seems like a better pipe than the 601. The body is a little narrower at the bottom of the bowl and the Rosewood has a waxed finish on it rather than a lacquered finish. Really nice to look at. Beautiful. The large end of the stem that fits over the cart has some embossed Chinese script on it and there is some script etched on the brass band that’s in-between the stem and the bowl. I have no idea what they say. There is also an etched serial number on the brass band. The stem fits really nice over the cart holder. I have not had a problem with the stem falling off my 601, but the stem on the Ruyan fits even better. Nicely machined precision.

Inside the bowl, it looks like the battery compartment is surrounded by a stainless steel sleeve. The top jewel cap screws on and off very easily. If you blow into the stem, the air will not pass through to the bowl like on the 601. I don’t know if it’s because of the sleeve or what, but if you can’t blow through the bowl from the stem, I’m guessing the leakage problem that plagues the 601 will not occur. That feature alone should make it perfect for dripping. The 3.7v battery from my 601 works just fine in this Ruyan pipe. (I’m vaping with it right now as my new Ruyan batteries go through the initial 12 hour first charge). The carts from the 601 fit just fine in the Ruyan as well.

The bad points that I’ve noticed as of this first day of ownership of a Ruyan pipe are this:

There is no green LED to tell you if the battery is getting weak. Having had a lot of experience with the 601, this should not be much of an issue. The inhale activated switch has a cut-off at about 2-3 seconds. Not a big deal as you still get a pretty good hit. I suppose it saves wear and tear on the atty. The flavor from my usual menthol juice is a little bit weaker than from my 601 and you don’t get as much air in the draw. I’m not sure if this has anything to do with the flavor reduction or not. I use Strictly E-Juice menthol 24mg which has a good throat hit so the flavor reduction is minimal - it might be an issue if you’re vaping some of the weaker tobacco flavors. It’s nothing I can’t get used to. I have emailed SEJ to ask if they can mix me a juice with more menthol, but I’m not holding my breath over that one. (After not having smoked an analog in over a month now, I can actually hold my breath!) So I may have to do the DIY route and get some menthol crystals to add to the juice - I need that BIG throat hit. I have not tried the carts that come with the pipe as I only vape menthol.

All-in-all, I’m happy. It may cost more up front, but if it will last a year like they say, it’s almost half the cost of spending $70 very two months for a new 601 pipe.

    That’s my review.

Thanks for that. I am very keen to hear how you go with the Ruyan.
I had a 601, which I loved dearly and lavished attention on. Every night I would back blow through the bowl and leave it inverted to drain juice.
The problem was that as much as I loved that thing, I could never relax and enjoy it. If I was out and about I would have my hand in my jacket pocket constantly checking to see if the atomizer had decided to turn itself on. Or to check that it hadn't decided to spontaneously eject a fair portion of juice into the pocket. I had to have a bundle of napkins with me all the time to wipe up the leaks and be prepared to fiddle with it when the juice decided to stop flowing.
All of this was with the originally supplied pre-filled carts. Which I liked (crazy I know) and still have a pile of just waiting to go.
I inspected this thing every night and even made a stand so that it would drain at the best angle.
One morning, out of nowhere, I went to use it and the bowl had split so badly that the threads had fallen out making the whole thing useless.
The experience lasted just less than a month and even though it was maintenance hell, I still miss her greatly.
Please do come back and update this as I am considering getting a Ruyan towards the end of the year and am very keen to hear your ongoing feelings about it.
Also would be interested to know where you got it. It seems to be an elusive beast.

Thanks again for a great review.

So far, no complaints. I'll probably post back in a few weeks to give this pipe a chance to prove itself.

    I got it at e-cigarette-web.com

    $230USD plus shipping.

OK, well, this sucks, actually it doesn't suck. I think the atty is burned out on my $230 pipe less than 30 days in. I've emailed the web site where I got it asking about the warranty.........

    I'll keep you posted.

For now I'm back on the 601.

Well, I've been spending the last 30 days trying to get my money back on my ruyan pipe to no avail.

I won't be suggesting to anyone that they spend the extra money and get a ruyan pipe instead of the 601. Also, don't buy anything from E-Cigarette Web.com.
