Default 801 USB manual p.t. out of stock, & battery back-up questions

Just checked Heavens Gifts, and they have a manual 801 passthrough with no battery box for $9! This should allow 5V to get to the atomizer.

Black Manual USB passthrough for DSE801 - Spare Parts - Heaven-gifts.com Ruyandirect.com Best E-smoking Shop
I just finished reading all of the threads that I could find in the Model Specific Discussions about the 801 penstyle ... should have started here a month ago. That's when I bought my first e-cig.

FYI, about acquiring a manual USB pass-through: I checked with Heaven Gifts, and they're out of stock on both colors. They don't even have a "Backorder" option. You can only sign up for an "Arrival Notice", which I did.

Are there any other suppliers that have these? I have one automatic 801 USB pass-through, and want a manual for it too. I like the 801, and have invested too much in stockpiling them already to switch over to a different style. Yep, I should have done more reading BEFORE buying, but I selected my styles based on Google searches and U-Tube reviews, and didn't discover this forum until after my first RN-4081 arrived. I liked my penstyle so much better that the mini-mini, that I really went for it (supply-wise).

    And I'm confused about this:

How does a Janty KB pass-through with a Janty KB manual switch work with any penstyle atomizer, when a Janty KB battery won't fit directly to a penstyle atomizer? What am I missing? Is this a DIY item, or where else should I look for it?

And, as a back-up to my back-up - can someone please point me to a link for some information that I saw somewhere for a direct-battery-thing (sorry for the lingo) that will work with an DSE801/RN4072 and/or RN4081? I remember seeing a photo of one sitting on a car seat, while the driver vaped directly hooked up ... like a pass-through for traveling. Cool! I think that it worked on rechargeable batteries, instead of having to plug into a p.c.

Lastly, I'll admit to being a geek-girl, but I'm not electronics oriented. I'm also wondering about approximately how long an automatic 801 USB pass-through would work hooked up to a freshly charged, and fairly new-ish 17" laptop. I'm going out of town, and just don't have any more time to search and test all of this stuff out, but I'm thinking that I can put the laptop on the car seat (for now) and get some good vape that way. All of the car chargers that I have are just that - only chargers - and I'll be on the road for 8 hours each way.

Beware - I'm a chatter, as anyone who's managed to read to the end of this (it started out to be a short post), or any of my other posts will attest to.

Btw, I liked the NRA terminology idea - whoever it was that suggested that (I'm a member). Too bad it's already in use.

See? "Lastly" was 3 notes ago.

Heaven Gifts/RuyanDirect has had quality control issues with the 801 manual passthroughs. I should know. 7 died out in 2 days. They've pulled them from the website for now. Hopefully we'll get something more reliable soon!

I've gone and pre-ordered a passthrough from PureSmoker. Better be good, and better be soon! ha

Here's a link to the portable battery pack which I've been using for a few months with my automatic PT:

    APC MOBILE POWER PACK

Recharge it from a electrical socket. It's about the size of man's bifold wallet, and works very well. Depending on much you use it, you might get two to five days out of one charge. One caveat: it has an auto shut-off if there's no use after 15 minutes, so you have to press the button on front to re-activate it, but it saves the battery power. You can also use the PT while the battery pack is charging.

Many folks also use the Kensington Power Pack which has similar specs to the APC, but from what I read, doesn't have an auto shut-off.

There are other brands of power-packs that work, but there are also some that should work but don't, so unless you can verify with someone that it works with an e-cig PT, don't buy it.

As far as the laptop idea goes, if the PT works with yours (my doesn't), why waste your computer's battery power?

Default Note to Palmetto & Hellen re: new toys

Perfect! Thank you both! I've got both the APC Mobile Power Pack (I liked the price and auto shut-off over the Kensington), and PureSmoker's manual pass-through on order ... and a couple of other goodies. Sheesh. PayPal is WAY too easy. I'm shipping the Power Pack directly to my trip destination, so I'll even have it for the drive home.

    Y'all are awesome! Thanks again.
Poof (the shortest post of my life).

Way to go Sheryl! Burn up da Paypal, ha. Ummm, a bit guilty of that myself lately. It is just too easy dammit!! So many e-cig toys, so hard to get in line for it first!! (everything I look at lately is out of stock... humf).

    Safe journey! (hokey pokey... lol)

I suppose I can answer this. I tried to write it out, but a picture seems to work better.

Default Penstyle & Janty atomizer/switch/battery pic

    breakfastchef,
Okay, now I get it. Sorry ... I didn't realize that the Janty KB manual switch was a separate piece that fit in between the atty and the battery. Thanks for the picture.

Default Totally off subject to: Hellen Re: The hokey pokey

    (hokey pokey... lol)
Yeah, it cracked me up too (obviously). I don't even remember who I stole if from, but there's been some other interest, so I think I'm gonna go with it and start a club: t-shirts, mouse pads, coffee mugs, secret hokey-pokey passwords, a dance (oops, that's been done) ... the works! I'll keep you updated. lol

Your Hellen A. Handbasket made me chuckle too.

Can I be in the club even if half the time I put the wrong foot in (or put it in my mouth?)
