Default 801 @ 5volts should be pretty good?

I saw Steve demonstrate the 801 at 6V with the Prodigy, and I was rather impressed. Unfortunately I can't afford one as of yet.

I started looking at 801 USB passthroughs, but they all had the battery box limiting the voltage.

Just checked Heavens Gifts, and they have a manual 801 passthrough with no battery box for $9! This should allow 5V to get to the atomizer.

What do you guys think? Will I get a Ferrari for cheap?

Decent price but the standard passthroughs sold by many suppliers should work as well, though they are all automatic switches.

I run my 901 off of 5v (straight USB connection) and they work great, just make sure you keep your coil wet and don't let it get too hot.

901's are starting to come out with manual switches on the passthroughs, and I'm sure we'll soon see them for the 801's.

I can't do automatic any more. They get clogged too easily when dripping.

801 @ 5v are excellent. The atomizers seem to handle it with no problems. At 6v they do pop a LOT more often.

I usually run mine at 5.5 as a compromise.

the PC USB power supply is rated at .5 amps max...

an e cig atomizer at five volts would draw at least 1 amp.. double the rated USB output.. so how can this be.. ??

    treat it as a riddle..
