Default Battery Contact Question

I recently got a 901, and I'm wondering, if the battery contact comes in contact with metal, will it discharge it, or just if the center conductor contacts metal? What about the gold ring in the middle when atty and battery are screwed together? If that ring contacts something metal, will it discharge the battery? Thanks for helping a noob.

I have not had that problem, thus far. Are you having problems, or just wondering about it?

Happy Vaporing!

If it's an auto battery, (activated by drawing on it, pressure or sound), it won't be a problem. If it is manual, it won't matter unless the button is pressed. Although sound activated batteries can fire in your pocket, a bar, or anywhere there is noise. Best to unscrew them from the atomizer if this is a problem.

As I understand it to discharge a battery you'd need to connect to the inner and outer areas and active the battery either by pressing the button or setting off the automatic switch.

If not connected to an atomizer this would be unlikely to occur.

The one exception would be a fluid. If you dropped the battery in water you'd kill it quickly. The water would connect the two points and short past any kind of switch. Juice would do the same thing if it also got into the switch.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I was just wondering because sometimes I carry my spare battery loose in my pocket, and didn't want to unintentionally discharge it by contacting my keys, etc. I think I have the pressure activated auto batt...I've tapped on it, whistled loudly right next to it, been in a room with semi-loud music, no activation until I take a draw from it.
