stuck button
the button on my 901 battery is stuck down. I can wiggle it and sometimes get it to the off position and other times into the on position. anyone have an idea what I can do here? If I pull off the rubber button is there a little button on there that I can glue a piece of plastic on to make it work?

Don't know what to do, but this is a common complaint for the 901. It's why I use my 510 exclusively, and keep the 901 as a back-up. Good luck!

is the button on the 510 similar to the 901? or any better?

does pressing on the internal button work correctly??
if so then you could glue or epoxy something to extend the button for easy access, but if the problem is not resolved by removing the rubber button cover then your problem is an internal electrical issue (maybe due to liquid leaking into the battery) and if that is the case there is not much you can do to fix it.
as long as the 510 is so popular, most manufacturers are not going to concentrate on fixing a flaw in a product which they don't sell alot of.
your best bet if you want to continue using the 901 atomizer would be to explore the MODDING area of the forum. there you can learn to make your own long lasting batttery mod such as the nico-stick or the magnum mod. (thanks to nico and madog for their 'ópen source' instructions)
most 510 batteries are sealed to prevent liquid from entering the battery which seems to be the major cause of battery switch failure.... but there are still some unsealed 510 manual batterys but very rare

I have revived several electronic devices, cell phone, wireless mic etc that have experienced the Mountain Dew syndrome (sticky conductive goo) by immediately soaking them in distiled water which is non conductive. After that I would soak them in pure alcohol. PGA or isopropyl 97% to displace the water. Put them in front of a fan with all available openings open. Worked every time. I've been lucky. It wont work every time. Never done a battery.

Had same problem, then lost little rubber push piece, my unsightly but effective solution was to put broken matchstick in hole then secure with piece of electrical tape, kept batt working until it died the usual lack of charge death.

It looks like the same button to me, but it doesn't fall off or come loose. I've never taken it apart to see how the guts are different. They must have some technology that works better.

sorry to hear about this... I just got my 901 and because I wasn't sure I would even LIKE it, I didn't buy an extra atty... however, I dropped mine on the floor (don't ask :-P ) and used my foot to roll it closer to me so I could pick it up... turned out I ended up popping the rubber outter button off! I panicked, but then found the button and was able to get it back in. No problems, still working just as good. Bottom line? Desperate times call for desperate measures, just use some common sense... there was a little white button inside, so it will be easy to figure out if the problem is the rubber outter or the inner button. good luck!

This has been happening a lot to my 901 p/t just lately. Solution - if possible remove button with aid of tweezers, if its stuck inside take battery apart (see tips and tricks section how to do this) remove switch put back together and reseat switch. Tip do it over a white piece of paper as those little buttons are nightmare to find if dropped on carpet.
