Default Good Cleaning Scedule ???

Hi - I’m getting overwhelmed with so much info on this forum…
Looking to find a good cleaning schedule…
Also basic advice on atty maintenance – keep wet? Dry out overnight?
With drying out often is the prime up good for attys … etc etc …

Alcohol works good to clean the battery contacts when they get dirty. Swab with a Q-Tip and dry.

I soak my atomizer in Everclear if it clogs. Other than that, I don't touch it. I set my e-cig down at night, and pick it up to vape the next morning. I haven't blown an atty in months. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Riche,

I'd suggest noting which model of atty a cleaning method is meant for. Some of them have a glue inside which can be destroyed by some chemicals.

I've cleaned mine with vodka and let dry. This works if they're clogged and I can't just blow them out.

I don't have a schedule. I just clean them as needed being sure that I always have at least one or two in good working order.

I own 3 atomizers I've had for a month. I've just ordered two more. Of the 3 i own:

1 has a light draw and weak vapor.
2 have a heavy draw but very strong vapor.

I think they all performed better when new a month ago. They all started with medium draws and lots of vapor.

The attys with heavy draws will get a little lighter when I clean them. They will build up and get heavier over time though. I suspect they just don't heat up as quickly as they did when new. This causes them to clog a bit.

I'm with Jim. Clean only when you need to and keep spares.

I would agree. Dont really do anything but vape and you will be better off.
Have a few extra attys around when they do go out..
Start messing with them and they wont last long........

Arrow Everclear ?

Thanks ...
I use 2 vapers – Dura C / Joye 510 mix and a Janty Stick (801 atty)
I am from SA - what is everclear??? - I will find an equivalent here …

Probably right about leaving atty alone – but after a week it does get a little weak.
… So I am keen on finding out best maintenance – attys and all eCig products cost a fortune here – I have found cheaper sources on the internet (mostly from China direct at this point)…

Fairly keen to set up a distribution here in SA as all the suppliers are REALLY expensive.
Anyway too much info for now …

From what I understand, Everclear is the "drinkable" form of alcohol, which ranges from 150 to 200 proof. I put that in quotes, because I never have, nor doubt I ever would drink the stuff.

Now cleaning an atomizer....?

Anyone know a good Everclear supplier?

Rubbing alcohol is ethanol alcohol the same as you drink. Except its "denatured" which means they put something in it so if you drink it, it makes you sick.

I don't want to waste something I could drink cleaning an atty

Letting it dry out after cleaning with Rubbing alcohol, I believe will solve any issues with the "denatured" part coming back to make you sick. I'm not dead or sick so it must be alright.

Chap calling himself Sattec has done some testing on cleaning :
Has found that a quick soak in CREST mouthwash does wonders.
I have tried - seems to work quite well.
Check it out for tons of interesting stuff:
Sattec's atty cleaning test thread
I will also try 150-200 proof drinkable alchohol
.

Well … could not find any alcohol that strong I could drink …
Pity …
I have tried some medical cleaning alcohol from a chemist – made atty taste real bad - even after long dry and vaping out tons of juice to possibly clear taste – nearly stopped me vaping forever – maybe this was wrong type of alcohol (not ethanol)

Will find go to a chemist and ask carefully for right stuff – rubbing alcohol?

Try the liquor store. Each state has different laws. In Texas, it's available in any liquor store, usually next to the vodka. If Everclear isn't available in your state, use the 100 proof Vodka.

Some folks add a few ml of Vodka to their juice. Adds throat hit.
