I just found a $9 10-in-1 Pocket Size Cranking LED Flashlight , and one of the ten functions is a USB charger. Although it's out of stock right now:
10-in-1 Pocket Size Cranking LED Flashlight - RadioShack.com

This would be great if it has the right power output, no need to worry about charging anything ever. The next time I'm going camping I'll have to get one of these. Even if it doesn't have the right power output for the passthrough to work at least I can charge it and wait.

There are some great prices on ebay for USB chargers. I found a few keychain ones for around $6. I have t find one that mentions the output though.
EDIT: Damn, only 4.2v and 500mah for the keyring ones, I should have realized it being so small.

I also have the pack from the styletech store, it's 3000mah and comes with both an a/c adaptor and a car cigarette lighter adaptor for recharging.

The Duracell pack is 1000mah, I saw somewhere, don't know what it comes with.

ok as an online shopaholic, it seems that the battery from ebay is about the best bang for the buck. i've found some on amazon for cheaper and touting good specs...but on inspection are only 700ma output, a far cry from the bad boy on ebay.

Jamie...

I just picked up the Duracell [DR7000LI] tonight; it just comes with a cable [usb to mini-usb], so you can charge it from your pc, no car adapter.

I'm charging mine right now with the usb wall charger from my wife's mp3 player tho...I forget where but I think I've read that it's recommended that at least the first few charges should be from wall power.

And yes the thing is so dang slim! Also has an on/off switch, which should help with the whole 'auto-vape' problem people are having with their passthru plugged into their pc.

Sun...I am confused. If the output current needs to be 1A, then I cannot use the USB passthrough with my PC because USB2.0 spec states that 500mA is the max output current.
My USB passthrough is coming tomorrow. I don't want to burn my USB port. May be I should try it on my cheap Black & Decker Pocket Power instead.
My Black & Decker Pocket Power only provides 350mA and 1200mAH capacity, but it only cost me $.70. I'll let you guys know how it works out.

i've seen generally 1000mah, no less, to run a passthrough, but what about higher?

and what about using that battery pack to charge USB batteries? anyone tried that? any risk if the power is too high?

this is still in relation to my EVO batteries not telling me they're charged. if the problem is with the PC and it cutting power to the ports so it can't tell me it's charged...if i leave the PC out of the equation then by all means i should get an indicator, at least that's how it's being explained it seems.

more to the point, this looks like a pretty good deal, though it charges via USB and not mains.

forgot the link.

I use this and have an extra for backup. Charge lasts 3 days or more. Can put out up to 6v so it heats the vapor well and my e-cigs put out more vapor than hooked to the computer or the original battery. Comes with batteries and uses 1.5v AAs so they can be used for other purposes. Had mine two months now with no problems. Oh, and you don't have to turn it on and off like the other popular one LOL Just plug in and go.

Has anyone tried the Igo power adapters?

It uses 2AA batteries.
4.2-6vdc
power output: up to 5 watts continuous
output current: up to 800mA

I use it to when my nextel dies and im out on the road. It has different tips you can put on it.

It has to be 1000ma to power the usb passthrough.

I picked up one of these also - but even though it states 1000ma - I got nothing when plugging the 901 pass through in. Think it's total power, not the power that is provided through the USB port... Let me know if you have different results, but I think the Duracell DR7000LI is a no-go for the 901 pass through...
