I have found that no mater the nicotine level if I add a bit of menthol, throat hit every-time. Someone mentioned in another thread that throat hit may have to do more with PH level of the juice.

I also do not like the burning type of throat hit (that seems to be there with straight 36mg liquid) if that is what everyone is going for with the higher nicotine, but rather just the quick throat contraction that I get when I add a bit of menthol to any flavor or nicotine content juice albeit I haven't really tried to get this menthol type of throat hit with zero nicotine or even anything less than 18mg.

There is another thread that discuss what a throat hit is and generally there are these two types discussed: burning scratchy feeling vs. more of a quick muscle contraction in the throat. Too much nicotine equals this burning type of throat hit for me that I do not like and a little menthol gives me that quick contraction type of throat hit. It is possibble that I have been adding the menthol to my mix of 18mg to 36mg and the 36mg is giving me the throat hit while the menthol is preventing the scratchy feeling via it's cooling sensation, but I really think it has more to do with the flavors and/or possibly PH level?

Too much voltage seems to give you a burnt taste even with the 5v from a USB. I get throat hit with my DSE 901's no problem when the juice is right and has a little menthol in it...

Milo, we are talking about the carts, not the atomizer. The 510 carts will fit on a 901 atomizer and hold a little more liquid.

And the same as yvilla, the SD gives consistent, non-burning/scratchy throat hit but the contration kind of hit. It's just that feeling that you know you are vaping and not just sucking in air.

    battery life??
    vapor production??
    throat hit??

Hum... how would I rate these 3 categories with the SD?

Mouse - I'm wondering 'bout those batts you have??

I bought some on ebay that are doing really really well for me. The batts come in a nice carrying case.

How about protective circuit boards, like found in the Janty Stick and Prodigy but absent from the Screwdriver?

How about ergonomically correct designs because the products were actually designed and manufactured for the specific purpose of making a PV instead of hacked together from an existing product that was intended to be used a completely different way?

Are those improvements you would be willing to buy?

    Great WV2,

so then I can assume that since the 901 atty is the same as the 4075's then 510 carts will fit them as well... so I have a choice. Great thanks.

I use 901 SLB attys from ruyandirect.com and I also use their 901 carts. Don't care for the rounded mouthpiece of the 510 carts.

I would describe the hit I get from the SD using a 901 atty as a "tight packed" hit.

I see no need. The charger has the protection from overcharge. The vapor will drop off long before over discharge. Some common sense and normal care is all I need. IE, I don't put my batteries in a pocket with metal objects. Which you shouldn't do with protected batteries either!

Ergonomic? You've got to be kidding! If you're not, haven't you seen how big the Prodigy is compared to the SD? Or how big and ugly the GG? And how unshapely they are? And the JS is, well, a stick (actually, a box mod).

The SD is bar none the smallest and most ergonomic manual switch/powerful battery mod available to date. It fits the palm of the hand perfectly.

In case anyone's wondering WHY I still have the SD as my sig, it's because I got my first ecig in January 2008 but still smoked for 10 months, until I got my first SD. I have other APVs, but also still love and use my SD (with a Bulli on top). I will be forever grateful to Trog for saving my life!

Sorry I thought reality might be something you would buy into. I guess not.

Enjoy the hacked up flashlight, i will stick with the quality and safe PV's that were actually designed to be PV's.
