What e-cig did your Mom finally quit with, the 901 or a different one?

I'm surprised you didn't try a 510 or KR, but glad you quit.
Mom started out with a 901--still using it. Still not smoking. I don't wanna put her on anything higher than 3 volts because her lungs are in pretty bad shape.

I tried a 510 with the Kensington battery on a pass thru. I stick with 901s because they're cheaper

Krythis--I too lost my mind when my Chuck broke. Going back to a regular 901 battery was like using nicotine gum. And my batteries were old & weak--I was REALLY cranky for a while ha ha

    Whatagem,
what an excellent write up. There are a few GREAT threads in the beginner area and yours should be one. I'm not sure how that would be accomplished, but I'll try unless someone more knowledgeable does it first. I wish I had read it before I started and I haven't been through the mill like many others. btw, I have used fabric softener sheets place under the carpets and in discreet areas and they have worked very well. Best of luck, Allan

Thank you very much! I'm not sure how to get a thread moved either

Ultimately, I'd like to quit my stinky blue collar job and just write. This just isn't a great time for me to be a starving artist Ha ha

I use fabric sheets as well; i place at the bottom of trash cans (i heard a small scented candle works well too) Their are some good ones (strong scent) made by Bounce & Downy though they are a bit pricey

Husband quit smoking a couple weeks ago so I'm currently cleaning like someone that needs to be on meds. Man, the price of paint has skyrocketed since i last bought some! Oh well, to the landrymat I go!

Re: cleaning the car...I had a friend years ago who could not stand the smell of smoke. He bought a slightly used car from a smoker and it took about 30 thorough cleanings to finally get back to a new car smell. I admired his dedication, I have only cleaned mine once since I stopped smoking so I have a long way to go.

I prefer lemon to the vinegar, it smells much better. Baking soda absorbs a lot of the odor out of carpet and upholstery also.

Whatagem, thank you so much for the excellent, candid writeup. What keeps me from ordering one of these special masterpiece e-cigs is that I don't want to deal with the occasional repair issue, and also sometimes I misplace my e-cigs. So, with my cheaper if slightly boring 510, if I lose it I can afford to have backups on hand.

Febreeze works great to get rid of the stinky smelly smoke in vehicles. Spray everything and keep vehicle shut up tight for a couple of days (if possible, if not, at least overnight). Works great, smells equally as good as the new car smell. You can also get the new vehicle smell once again after you get rid of the smoke smell. Auto stores (and others) sell a new vehicle spray.

    Great article, whatagem!

"Get a cheap starter kit--to test it out."

Definitely, then if you find yourself liking e-cigs then find yourself a good mod. You'll save lots of $$.
