I have to echo Matt P's sentiments. I was lurking for the past week and this thread got me registered! Really nice job Kristin.

Incidentally, I am in the middle of a "step-down" process to quit smoking (no nicotine supplement) and I've been searching for a backup plan because I don't want to fail this time (20+ years of smoking).

Thanks to all who give their input here, it has been and will continue to be invaluable, and albeit good or bad in your opinions, I have a Red Dragon on the way!

One suggestion (and I'm sure you know this stuff already), but there is some suggestion that the addiction to nicotine in tobacco is to some degree or other accentuated by a "coupling" effect with other chemicals.

I'll try to find the original research.

Secondly, there's the route of action. Mucous membrane versus alveoli gas exchange. Do we have any more info as to whether this has been studied?

This was unbelieveable! I'd like to make a few copies of this and pass it around and inform people cause I'm scared, and being a 6'3 guy thats pretty impressive, I'm scared because since no one seems to be stopping the corruption of the FDA. It's crazy to see that peoples health and happiness doesn't even matter in the slightest to them.
