| The E-Cigarette in Public Have you used e-cigarettes in no-smoking areas? How did those around you react? Is it the perfect way around the smoking ban? |

| I use my e-cig at work all the time and no-one is that bothered, luckily I don't have to work with anyone who complains just for the sake of it. Propylene Glycol is used, as we all know, in many fog/smoke machines. I don't think I know anyone who hasn't come in contact with one of these things at a gig/play/show or whatever and no-one complains about those. The volume of fog/smoke produced is immense as well, and while I'm sure I've heard that it does have an adverse effect in large volumes inhaled over time, I don't think my e-cig compares - and it's better than inhaling 'dry ice'. I just love the fact that no-one can actually legally make you stop using an e-cig in a public - it's always at the owner's discretion. Good on you Emperor! There will always be people who complain for the sake of complaining. Spider |

| Yup, the ONLY time I haven't been called out for public indulgence of my wicked habit was at a Doctor Who convention in Earl's Court the other weekend. Kids everywhere and I couldn't hardly see the little suckers for the smoke in the Dalek invasion animatronic. Out with the cig! Puff puff aaaaahhhhh In-fil-trate! In-fil-trate!

| Super Member | Hammy is right...if one person complains, you must take it seriously and take the device elsewhere. I'm sorry that happened to you Hammy. I haven't heard of anyone getting sick from the vapor before. Several things could be happening here... Your co-worker may be ultra sensitive and really having issues, or like others say could be sensitive to perfumes. Or could be an anti and trying to be a butt in a nice way. It doesn't matter. If the co-worker complained, you need to take it seriously as it doesn't affect your job. It's nice to be able to have the device so you won't have to go outdoors...but sometimes with my own, I have to go outdoors because of the confusion. My best friend had to put hers away when she used hers in a smoking area because the manager didn't like the look of it. You did the right thing by taking your Njoy elsewhere...and asking here if it were possible for someone to get sick. Logically, most of us would say that it's not possible. But realistically, we can't say that it isn't.

| Just to add my 2 cents to this debate... At the end of June I did a road trip with 5 other people all of whom were non smokers. I vaped for the entire 13 hour drive and they didn't notice anything other than a slight apple smell when I switch to an apple flavored cartridge... Well that and the vapor... It was kinda funny when I took the first drag in the guys car, he saw me exhale smoke and got a really weird look on his face and I could tell he was about to rip me a new one for smoking in his car but then saw me smiling at him and didn't smell anything so it turned from anger to curiosity in a heart beat.. I would also like to mention that I had never met these guys in person.. I ended up hitching a ride with them to a spearfishing competition in Puertocitos Mexico. Phil |

| Hi! my first post, and thought i'd put it here where most appropriate ![]() I just ordered my first e-cig today after hearing about it on Radio 1 news, then looking it up on bbc online. despite the lack of medical research, i think it's a fantastic idea ![]() i first confirmed it with my boss whether i could use it at work, and he said "as long as your colleagues that sit near you are ok with it then yeah" and they gave approval so long as it doesnt smell... so thumbs up there! the boses dad, former owner of the company who comes in to do invoices smoked in the office like a chimney right up to the ban day, so i'm thinking he might be interested when i get it! i only regret that i made my purchase off a new user on ebay, before i found the excellent video reviews by the fella in the hats (sorry i forgot your name but i think your a member here too), whom forwarded me onto the e-cig.co.uk website. i kinda wish i'd gone there, the price is the same, but i've a feeling i'll be needing the business cards full of info, as i went for the super mini with orange battery. as i'm a heavy roll up smoker i think my uneducated first choice for a regular vaper might require a qiuck second purchase, but i'll try it anyway and maybe purchase the vials to drip in so i dont work through the cats so quickly. how many times can carts be reused before they eventually fail? cheers and great forum! i've been teased a little about it by my colleagues, but none of them have smoked a single cig in their lives.... but i'll be quietly laughing when i'm happily, less harmfully (hopefully) puffing away and getting my fix while working ![]() |

| I vap in my house in the eve. My hubby is watching tv downstairs and I am upstairs. He is oblivious to the fact I am even enjoying my ecig. I could have never done this with burning tobacco! |
