I have been vaping about 3 weeks now and when in public I noticed that I can't vape for 3 minutes without drawing a crowd of at least 3 and having to give the whole e cig presentation. Everyone is very nice and highly curious and ask a ton of questions. At first I didn't mind and I don't wanna come off like a grumpy gus but I just wanna smoke in peace. And I'm not smoking my e cig in the grocery store drawing insane attention, I'm talking out on the street passing by. Its like instant celebrity. I still answer all questions and laugh and smile at everyone but wow, vaping comes with a ton of responsibility. On my lunch break at work I vape with the other smokers on our smoking deck and I find myself the entire time having to take apart my E Cig, showing how it works, explaining technique's like dripping that has given me a lot of success and to be honest I still am a complete and total noob still learning as I go. Is anyone else having this experience? I mean it almost causes me to go off by myself in the dark with my e cig but I was always a proud smoker and never felt I should hide myself away like a leper. But with analogs people just gave me dirty looks for smoking, and now I have smiling faces who won't leave me alone. I'd like to meet somewhere in the middle where I can vape/smoke without the dirty looks and the 100 questions. Smoking anything has become this massive taboo drawing attention both negative and positive. I hate that I'm coming off like I don't like explaining my e cig but I really do enjoy it many times and love helping people and giving my whole pitch for them, but God, its incredible the amount of perfect strangers that would usually sooner step on me rather than look at me, but with an e cig in hand they come running across parking lots toward me. |

Carry business cards with the web address to here & BiJimW's forum. Tell them you're just a beginner and still learning yourself and these places are where you get your info.

Thats a good idea. I have mentioned this forum before even though people tend to continue prodding me for information. I think next time I will truly play dumb and just point in this direction. Again, I'm not like this all the time, I usually don't mind giving all the info I can, just sometimes I wanna vape without the mob. My poor friends also end up getting neglected and held up while I'm explaining it to people. I've even had to have my picture taken once with someone while vaping. I took a long draw to get massive vapor production for the picture. Haha, most of it is really fun, I just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this kind of strange pseudo celebrity all because of the e cig. And my God, its not like e cigs are insanely expensive either. I guess all those peer pressure kids were half right.....without the death and cancer.....smoking/vaping IS ultra cool.

I get kinda tired of people asking me what im smoking. Most of the time i dont have time to stop and explain it to them. I told the last few people i was smoking crack out of it and they didnt ask anymore questions. but of course i did tell them that i was just kidding. they will find out one day what it really was when vaping becomes more popular. they will say "thats what that asshole was smoking" ![]() ' |

| Totally awesome idea. I've already had a few people come up and say I should sell this stuff because I get visibly excited when talking about it. I think I will carry an extra e cig around, fully loaded and ready to go, and the next time I amass a crowd I will yank it out and announce "Let the auction begin!". "Do I hear 20nah, 20nah 25nah!"

Haha, its nice to know I'm not the only one. Its just amazing how many people are attracted to this thing, not just smokers. And not saying these non smokers will pick up an e cig, but they are really very attracted to it due to its non stinky vapor. I was at the bar and had a similar interaction. I put my e cig down on the bar and waved it around. This time I was intentionally trying to coax the bartender to come over and ask what I had. It worked. She came over and asked what I had there. I told her it was an e cig and offered a demonstration. I vaped and blew the vapor in her direction. She laughed, thought it was cool, and marveled. And with that I knew I had the green light to vape at the bar. It was glorious to be able to smoke/vape inside a bar again. It brought a tear to my eye. |

I refer to using the PV as "pretending to smoke." ![]() It is funny. I'm not an outgoing guy and couldn't usually sell water to a burning man. I could probably sell a truckload of these things though. I think thats why there are so many small suppliers here. You don't have to be Billy Mays to sell these things. ![]() -Gooney0 |
