| The E-Cigarette in Public Have you used e-cigarettes in no-smoking areas? How did those around you react? Is it the perfect way around the smoking ban? |

I have had very few people ask me about it. I don't usually vape in public places though, I guess it's a hold over from when I used to smoke.

At first when I vaped at the mall somebody would come and tell me "not smoking zone". As people get used to ecigs, most of the times I get smiles and thumbs up. Although not everyone is that friendly... Expect to give LOTS of explanations and donīt get mad at giving them.

I vaped in the grocery store once. No one noticed, but I was kinda hiding it. I haven't vaped in Walmart though. I'm too scared too, because there are always a ton of people there.

My personal opinion; Deliberately vaping in a store just so people notice, is not good. E-cigs are still new to the public, and this will only give them a bad name. Some of our local restaurants have banned them for being a nuisance. I've always found I can wait until I'm outside.

I just got back from a Franchise Meeting (on Sunday no less, a**holes). While I do not vap (usually) anywhere that I didn't smoke analogs (except my own retail store out of view of the public {I asked and gave myself permission}) I did use my prodigy throughout the meeting. When I got there I made sure to get a seat in the last row as far to the outside of the room I could find. Then I just sat there and vaped as I pleased. It was just my way of saying, "This is my only day off all week, every week and you a**holes have to call a bu******* meeting. Go, ahead, make my day, say something to me!" No one said a word to me, except the guy next to me. He wanted to know all about it. I have to say it was a unexpected experience for me. I never got antsie or impatient with the meeting as I usually did, wondering when the next break was so I could go get an analog in. The day went realtively quickly and I can ALMOST say I enjoyed it ~ ALMOST! |

I wasn't specifically vaping for attention, just wanted to "feel" for resistance... no one seemed to notice/care, granted neither establishment is known for cream-of-the-crop clientelle or workers. I wanted to explain and guage the interest. We have NO local outlets for e-cigs or supplies within 3 counties. No one seems to have heard of them. Even the malls are clueless. |
