Smoking in Public Places

Does anybody smoke e-cigs in public places?
I heard some areas are making laws against them.

I live in NY, scared to vape in public when my order arrives.

I don't vape in public places that are no-smoking areas. I do vape outside with the smokers at work and I'm trying to convert some of them to ecigs. I've vaped on walks, in parking lots and places like that. I've gotten a couple stares but no one has said anything yet.

There is a restaurant in downtown San Diego, in the Little Italy section, that I really love.
It has outdoor seating on the sidewalk, with all the people walking by.

We go there a lot, because their Cioppino is awesome.
And I vape while seated outside, with other tables and their diners in fairly close proximity.

Some of the wait staff has asked me about them.
Some of the people passing by have asked me about them.
Some of the people in nearby tables have asked me about them.

But nobody has given me any trouble about them.

But then again, I'm 6'5" and I am not at all shy or hesitant.
But I still wouldn't vape in a tightly enclosed space or anywhere it would clearly be frowned upon.

To be honest, I´ve become so used to going outside to smoke, that I keep doing it.

Currently, smoking is only banned in restaurants not pubs over here, so after my meal, I go and have a coffee and a vape in the pub/cafe. Should they ban it in pubs though, I will continue to vape there.

Other than that, I vape everywhere I used to smoke, the only exception is my office. I share it with two people, so I don´t usually vape there, but when I´m alone, well, why not?

I don't vape in public places. The only exception is in places like bars and restaurants. I ask first and am still a bit surprised which business owners okay it and those who don't.
There are times when I ask, I raise my voice as I show my PV so all sitting around me know what it is.

Where I have found the most freedom is at my friends, relatives, and my own home.

Some vape at work, but they ask their supervisor or boss first.
If your sure you’ll get a no learn to stealth vape and proceed with caution---this is easy if your work in a cubicle or have your own office. If you don’t want to do that, and it’s nasty outside, there is always the restroom.
If you got any friends at work, you might fill them in on what you are doing so they can give you a heads up if danger is near.
Don’t vape around security cameras.
Don’t blow vapor directly at a smoke detector.

Sounds ridicules but this is how it is even if you aren’t smoking or not breaking the law.

I wouldn't vape in indoor public places yet, but that's because I wouldn't want the attention it would bring. I could quite easily imagine having to explain it over and over again to staff, managers and customers, when all I'd want to be doing is kicking back and relaxing with friends or family. However, when vaping becomes more mainstream, and a few extrovert characters have paved the way, I'll happily join in

I have been vaping at work, but I have made sure of explaining the 'smoke-free, carcinogen free' aspects to all my colleagues. I didn't mind that as a) I know them b) I only had to do it once. They all seem to be accepting of this and are happy for me to vape. I do have my own office though, I may have thought about it more if I was in a shared office. There are only a few smokers left where I work, and they're all showing a great deal of interest in getting e-cigs. I think they're a little envious that I'm sitting at my desk puffing away while they still have to go outside and freeze their nuts off every hour

I have had good results in various public places, stores, etc just walking around puffing away on my black with blue led super mini ecig. What I think helps are the television ads that are pervasive around here that are doing the explaining for me. Several folks ask if it's one of those water vapor cigarettes. A simple yep and another puff and away they go. A few cross-eyed looks from the upper mid class yuppies (wgas), and one old guy that jumped my butt for smoking in a warehouse. I just stubbed the glowey end on my face and told him I was not smoking. He calmed down quickly and asked for a demonstration. Restaurants are another story though as I do not wish to spend my valuable time explaining. I do frequent my fav Tex-Mex cantina in one of the last vestiges of a fast dying era where they still have smoking sections in restaurants. Been going there regularly for years and still sit in the smoking section. Getting tougher to sit in there the longer I've been off the analogs due to the smell. I have been the guiding light for several that frequent the establishment who have asked me about my peculiar looking cig. I feel like I should be getting paid for all of the cross-overs that I have shown the light (blue LED). The way I see it the more that move from analogs to ecigs, the more that understand that it is not anymore harmful than smelling some old blue hair's Este' Lauder perfume the more quickly I can vape anywhere I want.

I'm used to not smoking in non smoking areas anymore so it doesn't bother me not to vape in them. I really don't want to anyway because I don't want people thinking I am some jerk with no respect for the law.

no reason to draw any negative attention to vaping... lawmakers are looking for any excuse to regulate vaping as it is...
