The E-Cigarette in Public Have you used e-cigarettes in no-smoking areas? How did those around you react? Is it the perfect way around the smoking ban?

Default I did it

I used the e-cig at a party last night. I was really embarassed )
Mostly because I am shy and, even though I took my mini that looks like a cig, everyone noticed.
I felt rather foolish as my "friends" made me demo the e-cig a few times.
I will try again, with my black NJoy in the theater (a little electrical tape for the end though).
But I dont know that I can handle all of the attention.

Don't be embarrassed, you're doing a good thing.
Show people.....

I showed a neighbor today, her husband smokes.
He wants to quit.
She was amazed, and wants to do some more research, I showed her the different websites.

My sister in law saw me e-smoking, and she ordered one for her sister and brother in law, because she hates the fact that they smoke.

More people need to know about this device.

I stepped outside today to have a "smoke" with the vice president of the company. He smokes filter less camels.
I showed him my NJoy and we chatted for a few. He was impressed with the vapor but adamant that the electronic cig was not for him. But as I was heading off for my walk he said "oh hell, you could smoke that thing inside" lol

I never will - but its nice to know I have support from the top!

You mean it hasn't even crossed your mind, not even one time, to sneak a puff inside and see what happens? I was very nervous the first time I did. I just knew if anyone saw me I would be fired Now I puff away at my computer all day long. However, I have yet to get enough courage to smoke in front of a client...

I "smoke" in the restroom, elevator and stairwell. I also sneak a few puffs if I am alone.
But where I live "smoking", even if it is not a real cigarette, is so frowned upon I dont even have to ask if it is "allowed". There is no way my boss would go for it! Period. She is not the vice pres, but he follows all the rules set down by HR (by boss) so he really isnt much help.

On the plus side though, I wear jeans every day. We have resident dogs in the office and every few weeks the company treats us to catered lunches. The company also encourages alternative transportation and recently has been supportive of one of our co-workers who used a rubber inner tube to float to work on the river. I think they are considering paying him the usual "alternative transportation bonus". I work for a great company even if we cant e-smoke inside!

I did, however, brave smoking in the theater today. Not one person even noticed. Way better than popcorn and junior mints!

Sounds great, I wouldn't complain either?

Why sneak it though. That would imply that you're doing something wrong. We won't change things for the masses puffing in shame. This is a call to action. Just do it Brothers and Sisters... I do and it rocks.

I know! Let's e-smoke with the e-cig inside a brown paper bag. Cool, huh? I see these guys on many street corners, things in brown paper bags that they put to the mouths. We could do the same thing. We could use smaller brown paper bags. The other people using bags seem accepted -- drivers even give them money sometimes. So maybe if we e-smoke out of brown paper bags on street corners, we might get our pleasure and make money at the same time (a new selling tool for Revelle!).

If Mavkain wants to go public, he can e-smoke from a transparent Zip-Loc bag, which NerdyCinderella will be pleased to note also would provide a degree of rain protection. We're getting close to the Perfect Solution here. If this catches on, Janty will soon offer overpriced "bling" brown paper bags with gold Chinese writing all over them.

But some things are just more fun when you sneak them. Like resetting the score on that last frame of bowling. Or an extra long lunch break. Or a beer in the movie theatre. Or e-smoking indoors.
