    Default Alright.. NOW it's official.

I've been holding off on doing this.... but I figure I need to do it at some point. When I first got my 510 I told myself, and everyone else, not to get too excited because I wasn't really trying to quit. I just wanted to see if I could cut back some. I didn't want the pressure of saying 'I quit,' and then the (usually) unavoidable feeling of failure when I have an analog a few days later.

Well, after 17 years of smoking about 25-30 cigarettes a day I pretty much immediately went down to 2 to 3 cigarettes a day... then I went a few days without one... then I had one or two.. and so on.

    Since I got the 510 I've smoked a total of 20 cigarettes.
Which means I went from smoking a pack in less than 24 hours to smoking a pack over roughly 20 days.

The last time I had an analog was two days ago - and I was actually happy to find that it tasted absolutely horrible. It was the first time in years that I didn't finish a cigarette. I took a few drags... put it out, and immediately vaped some blueberry liquid to try to get the taste out of my mouth. Afterwards I felt like I couldn't get away from the smell. I can't believe just a few weeks ago I was sucking down 30 of those a DAY!

So... I think I'm finally going to say that I have quit smoking cigarettes.
I honestly have no interest in smoking an analog ever again.

So, I'm finally adding a banner to my sig stating that publicly. I know this probably doesn't mean much to anyone but me... but I'm posting this here to remind myself.

I listed the quit date as the last time I had a cigarette... but in reality I've already avoided roughly 530 cigarettes. Wow. I've tried to quit countless times in the past 17 years, and I'm shocked as to how this time it just sort of happened (or, 'is happening' I should say).

I also know it's possible that I may slip at some point in the future... and I'm going to do my best not to beat myself of over it if it happens. I'm adding this banner to remind myself that what is important is the number of cigarettes I've avoided... and to not throw away whatever progress I may have made so far.

    Thanks for everyone here.
This may sound completely over the top - but in all honesty this forum may very well have saved my life.

    You all kick ass.
    Thanks.

    EDITED TO ADD:
I realize I may or may not be a success story... but I'm being optomistic, and I didn't know where else to post this.

Great to hear... Keep it up! You should buy something nice for yourself with all the money you saved from not smoking analogs

    Grats!

I'm still at about 1-2 analogs a day... down from the 30 or so a day, so subtract that from the total not smoked in my cig.

I'll drop the last of em soon, I'm sure.

Wow, one more day and you'll be at over 1000 analogs avoided.
    Congrats to you!

Isn't it crazy to think how many of those we were smoking in a day?
It's only been a couple of weeks and the thought of it now makes me nauseous.

well done to you! you are a success simply to have cut down so much, let alone stop analogs altogether. i'm still having 2 or 3 a day, but i'm hoping once i can get a continuous successful routine happening with vaping i shall be ok. my 510 is not cutting it for me and i'm waiting on my tornado to arrive in the mail. now, if i could just find a way to make a cart last as long as the manufacturers say they do, i'll be happy. can't see that happening though. continually having to top off is rather fiddly and time consuming.
    congratulations to you!

Congrats, you are a success for sure. I felt like you did in the beginning but I thought,"I just might be able to stop smoking with these." and it happened.

Enjoy and keep up the good work.

I am one of those who stopped using analogs altogether just about on receipt of my e-cig (another 510 user here). I say "just about" because I received it at work, and left the battery charger there the first night... so I smoked analogs that first evening because I wanted to do the "Ultimate Test" - could the e-cig support my wake-up-and-commute habit of 4 - 8 analogs worth of nicotine...

Long story short, it's been a month for me now since the day after I recieved my PV, and I'm currently dripping English Toffee and Butterscotch mixed by a friend of mine who got me into this (and has subsequently started his own biz selling juice)...

...and I'm actually embarrassed by how many people have sig tags that show how many fewer cigs they smoked than I in the same 30-day period. Sheesh; I've avoided over a THOUSAND cigs in that short of a time? Ick!!

Oh, well - it's all good now, and congratulations!!!
