"Laughter is never too far away from tears"
My new toy arrived. My first impression was that Deej obviously has stock in a bubble wrap manufacturer. Ain't nothing gonna hurt those suckas when Deej ships them.
On to "Alto," as I have named my new PV. It's not at all too heavy. Weighing them in my hands, I think it is a tiny bit heavier than my big Chuck but, because of the way the weight is distributed over a wide-ish area, it doesn't exert a lot of pressure on any one muscle.
It is, however, large. I have moderately large hands for a woman and for the first few puffs it felt a bit awkward. After half an hour, I'm already much more comfortable with it. The different shape was actually a selling point for me. The muscles in the back of my left hand are temperamental -- my hand goes to sleep if I hold a phone to my ear for more than half an hour. Being able to switch between this and the various-sized tubes should be good for it. If you are considering buying one but have always thought of your hands as small, you can probably find a similarly sized tin at a local drugstore and carry it around to a bit to see if it works for you.
It has great draw. I like the fact that it runs at 4.8V. At 6V, my tendency to take long, slow draws on my PVs results in burned liquid. This doesn't and it's bringing out the flavor nicely.
And it uses normal batteries!!!!!! All in all, it looks like I made a great purchase. Thanks, Ralph.
And, yes, I do need to dust. Badly. (Which is how I usually dust.)
Haven't tried the liquids yet. Deej, do you recommend steeping?
I recommend a minimum of 2 days for steeping on all the flavors.
Some of them (the deejBlend line, mostly) do better with a 5-7 day steep.
InsaneManiac has been working on a 240mL bottle of Sweet Gingerbread that he's been working on... he says it keeps getting better, so...
I've started wondering what the upper-end of steep time might be...![]()
Poeia, I am so glad you are happy with your MBM!I think it will serve you well for many years. Those batteries will last a good long time as long as you don't mix the sets.
Thanks for the review and the pics.![]()
