I have several KR808Ds from VaporNine. Fast shipping and great service. They produce more vapor and throat hit easier and more consistently than my 801, 901, or Micro. Battery life is good, cartomizers last a VERY long time compared to anything else and they are very easy to refill.

Yes, even with refilling the cartomizers, they are a bit more expensive than constantly dripping and topping carts, but still much cheaper than analogs. For me the convenience and better vaping experience is well worth it. They are the closest thing to analogs I've tried.

Easily the best e-cig to take with you anywhere - a couple of batteries and a spare cartomizer and you're good for the day.

Wow... I'm still perplexed about some of the observations many of you have on the VKs. I have one kit I ordered from Steve at vapor4life, and I ordered another one from Eastmall (David Yang bought the vaporello supply) These units are identical except the LED is a different color. Same exact design, long battery, 2-hole. I have 10 batteries from the E9 type unit (including 2 from Red Dragon), 6 standard e-cig E9, and 2 longer batteries for the E9 I ordered from e-cig. All the batteries from RD/E9 work better than the VK type batts.

With the VK (KR808) batteries, you have to draw in the air more rapidly to get good vapor, and they don't turn on unless you draw in at speed. The RD/E9 batteries kick right in, with a nice slow drag and seem to produce more dense vapor. I haven't experienced a short cut-off with any of my RD/E9 carts. They go about 4 seconds, maybe 5. I know battery designs change a bit over time (the manufacture can make some changes), so some of you with a 2-second cut-off may have a slightly different batch.

You really need to compare apples to apples with the batteries and carts. Most of the carts sold for the RD/E9 are crappy with a different type of core (including those from .........., Red Dragon, ePuffer, and eSmoke). If you order the Smoke51 carts, they are the same core and liquid (and least in terms of how they act and taste) with the VK type carts. (if you take them apart and examine the core material's, you'll see what I mean) Compare a smoke51 cart on a RD/E9 to a VK cart on a VK, and the RD/E9 is a much better smoke and the act and taste the same. To truly compare apples to apples, but a VK cart on a RD/E9 (they screw on, just not all the way down), and put a VK cart on a VK. The RD/E9 still wins in my book. Are you folks doing a similar comparison, or just vaping with the crappy carts that come with most RD/E9 type units?

The best combo I've still found is a VK type cart (or a smoke51 cart) on a U9 USB passthrough from ........... I have two passthroughs, one at home, one in the office (and just ordered one for the car). I vape 10+ cartridges on them each day (OK I'm a chain-vaper).

Do I just have 2 lousy kits for KR808D's? Maybe a 4-hole is better, or maybe later battery designs. Don't get me wrong, they are not bad, just not as good as the RD/E9/Bloog/etc. style in my book, as long as you have the right Carts on them.

    @BigLance - wow, TEN carts a day?

How many puffs/drags do you take before discarding?
Is that based on it starting to vape less, burnt taste, or ?
(10 seems *quite* high, even when I stop at first hint of burnt taste..)

Never counted the drags, but it is significantly more than cartridges for my pen styles or mini. The carts last a LOT longer. I stop when the flavor diminishes significantly or if there is a burnt taste. I don't wast the carts by prematurely discarding.

I vape all day at home and work, I'm a bit obsessed with smoking. I smoked 3 packs of analogs all day before i switching to e-cigs. Since I have carts all over the place: work, car, home, pockets, etc. I figured out the best way to count how much I used was to put one of the rubber ends of each new carts I opened into my picket. At the end of the day, I would just count the rubber ends. I did this for a week, and I was smoking 9 to 10 carts a day. I've increased my vaping slightly since then but haven't done a recount for a month. I'm probably at 10 to 12 now, but didn't want to exaggerate in my post, without a recount.

This is interesting. I had some misc things coming from e-cig, so I did pick up a U9 passthrough (U9 starter kit, had to compare). Waiting for the battery to charge...and the E9 carts indeed do not fit the VK batteries. Trying the other way, at least on the U9 usb passthrough, it seems the threads on the passthrough are too long - a KR cart will fit, and activate the passthrough, but it seems like there's too much air, possibly because of the way the cart's not full reaching the edge of the passthrough...have you run into this?

Wegster, I have not had this problem with either of my two U9 USB passthroughs. The resistance and draw is the same whether using a VK style cart or an e-cig E9 type cart. The draw is also the same on the U9 as it is on a E9 battery using either type of cart. A small number of VK carts have thread problems and don't screw in as well as most. Try a different VK cart in case you have one of these bad ones.

Hi Lance. I may have an oddball u9, don't know what else to say, none of my VK/KR carts fit on it properly. They'll screw on, and do engage the atomizer, but it's like sucking an empty straw, I think too much airflow goes around the threads, and not through the cart.

All - where have you gotten *short* e9 or VK/KR batteries from? Please, links?

Wegster, sorry to hear that. I just received my third U9 and am happily vaping my VK carts on it without issue. You must be certain to plug the U9 into a USB port with plenty of power. If you plug it into, for example, one of the USB wall adaptors that come with many brands of e-cigarette USB CHARGERS, they do not provide enough power to get proper vaper. I know you keep saying there is too much air flow, but perhaps you are not getting enough power. I plug mine into a POWERED USB hub for best performance, a portable USB battery pack for recharing cell phones/IPods, or a a particular Belkin USB wall adaptor (the only one I've found that provides enough power for the USB passthrough). I don't use it on a PC USB port, because I've blow out the computer port in the past with a USB pass through.

Of course if you have a cart designed for the U9 and that works, my ideas above about your problem would be off-base.

Hi Lance. Yep, familiar with the underpowered USB ports/offlining issues, that's not the case, and I do have a few e9 carts (and a greencig set of carts) that work fine on the U9.

I'm going to have to take some pics of this one so you can compare to yours. :-)
Current vapes: GG Transformer, PS PT, 510/Dura/Titan/Yeti, M201, Greencig G300, M401/Pilot/Evo
