They both had 18th of July on quality control cards. It's just baffling me.
The black atomiser on the top where you put your mouthpiece in was all chipped and the mouthpiece does not fit tight like it normally does and tends to leak slightly.
Also the gold band at the bottom of it atomiser the paint with logo on its fading rapidly.
The silver one with this one battery playing up also on the silver manual switch fits crooked.
So I will try and get these replaced but I thought I would test drive them for the week .
I just wondered how long these batteries are supposed to last for as on getting only two hours plus but they are welded to my lips of most of the time so who knows.
But I just love the way these smoke . Best one I think I've had as well as the sedansa.

Have you tried their tobacco and Marlborough cartridges as I am finding them very soapy type tasting.

I am having the same problem Ned, and hope someone answers your question about how long they normally last. My original batteries were from the same batch, not sure if the replacements Jeff sent me were or not.

But the replacements are doing the same thing, which I'll let him know when I send the others back now. I also noticed that in spite of Ludo and several others commenting that the charger should turn green in under an hour, both on the first charger and the new one the led stays red with these batteries for about the same amount of time the batteries last, about two to two and half hours. I let them charge the full four each time, but nothing, they all die somewhere between two and three hours.

I even went through the sixteen then four voodoo ritual first. <G>

Oh, and my batteries are all black and behaving that way, so I don't think its the different color.

cheap chinese poor quality batteries .. probably around 200 mah..

some maths.. the heater coil draws around one amp each time u puff..

lets say each puff is five seconds.. 1000 ma for five seconds.. a 200 mah battery run time at the most would be ten minutes max.. divide five seconds into the ten minutes..

5 into 600 = 120 puffs.. then the battery is flat..

two hours would be one puff every one minute.. these are not real world figures.. allowing for internal resistance losses and the battery flashing off when around 20% of the charge is left.. the number of puffs would be far less..

a poor battery might be less than 200 mah.. we have some new 901 types that only have a run time of around two hours..

your questions are answered.. more chinese junk..

trog, a non working product isn't embarrassing for me at all. I'm sure it is to the manufacturer or seller. Usually i open the package on video so i have no demo time before i start the review. This was an exception. but i was trying to do it as close as possible to my normal system. all i did was charge the batteries and then i sat down to do the review.

Ned - I have found the Janty Marlborough and NR4 cartridges too sweet for my liking.

I really liked the initial batches of medium and high strength normal tobacco cartridges that I ordered.

However, a recent batch of medium strength normal that was shipped from France last month has a totally different taste. It is like something I would expect to find at the dentist.

I am very disappointed. I don't know if it is a quality issue or whether they have changed the formula but I do not find them very nice.

My Janty batteries have been lasting all day. So have my wife's. I usually leave them on the charger all night. I'm a foremer 2 pack a day smoker who is down to two packs a week Don't particularly care for the Janty menthol. Bought some .......... menthol cartridges before they stopped shipping and they taste much better. Much more smoke also.

Sorry Kit, i don't know what you mean.

I can quite understand why some have batteries that last all day and others die a death within minutes.

In my opinion the entire industry (new as it is) suffers from dire quality control.

If manufacturers/suppliers want to take this mainstream they are gonna have to get a grip on this and fast.

I smoked the same brand of cigarettes for 20 years. When I bought a packet I knew what I was buying. If e-cigs are to make inroads into tobacco use then they are going to have to perform equally well. Smokers expect this.
