It's a tricky little device for sure. The draw is so light that instinctually, I draw easily which clearly doesn't cut it.

I suppose no one can claim that 'you suck'.

I'm sure my wife would argue that I can suck at times. Of course I mean this in a negative way...


I still love the 601, it's great for just sitting and puffing away with little or no attention for a long period of time. This was exactly what I was looking for. I put in some low nic and vape away. Then when I need a good hit of nic, I turn to the 901 box mod I made. I'm pretty much not charging batteries anymore. I keep a 601 battery on the charger and I have 3 sets of NiMH 'AA's I use for my box mod. Couple more 601 batteries and I'll be good to go. I'm a legitimate all day/chain vaper so the less charging and fiddling I have to do the better.

Hey Chef - I do have a second atomizer - Just tried it and I get the same thing. Maybe I just need to work on my technique. I think the strobing was due to a slight flooding of the atomizer.

the only time i will get that strobe effect....red and green blinking....is when the battery needs charging.

i would make sure that when charging the battery...it makes good contact in the charger...if anything...bend the charger contacts out a little bit before inserting the battery in the charger and try charging the battery again

Just got my shipment from ruyandirect with my spare DSE601 atomizer, some juice and other odd parts. Wow, I finally understand the vapor you guys have been talking about and those massive clouds on asidrave's videos. This new atomizer produces three times the vapor that the original atomizer could muster up. I am going to ask Wayne if he will replace the ordiginal atomizer.

As to flavors, I just cut down some 36mg/ml Flue-Cured from ruyan with glycerine and water to about 24mg/ml. Very good tobacco flavor, hint of sweetness, minimal throat hit, excellent vapor volume; a decent e-pipe juice.

Thanks Raul - I actually did this last night, as I thought the contact with the charger was for crap.

Here's another one - how long are you guys charging your batteries? Is the 601's LED indicator, like all the other e-cig charger and meaningless?

I am charging around 3-4 hours. I never trust lights on chargers.

But is the battery actually charging when the light turns green?

with the battery in the charger....once the charger light turns from red to green...its charged. the battery will not "overcharge"..the battery charger has a protection circuit to prevent overcharging.

what is the flu-cured flavor like? do you like it as a daily vape? have you tried it in any of your other e-cigs? i want to try another tobacco flavor but just not sure which one to try..i tried the marlboro from ruyandirect...didnt like it...wish i saved it to try with the 601

Pipes call out for tobacco flavor. As you have found, lightly flavored juices don't come through the DSE601 very well. I have tried JC Kona, TW Coffee, TW Vanilla, Squeezings from cartridges past plus menthol drops, Liquid Express Coffee, JC Tennessee Cured tobacco, Liquid Express Black Tea and JuicyLiquids French Roast. None taste as good as they do through my Kissbox. The Ruyan Flue-cured 36mg diluted down to around 24 mg is very good. I can see me using this exclusively in the e-pipe as the TAB flavor that came with the device basically sucks.

The next dilemma is what happens when the flue-cured tobacco flavor runs out. Ordering a few bottles of juice from ruyandirect is expensive so I will continue to search out a less expensive alternative.
