Hey man. I think you misunderstood me about my drilling a hole in the cart" idea that you said you were going mention in your follow up review..

Drilling the hole was so that I could
1. Keep a steady flow of juice supplied to that atomizer because my atomizer is causing carts to dry out after only an hour or two (as opposed to the several days that they should last normally). The hole I drilled is approximately the diameter of an analog, so that the dropper part of almost any bottle fits in.

2. Mimic the effect of direct dripping, without having to remove the cart. For those who don't have one, the atomizer is about one inch deep into a narrow tube, so when you go to drip with a bottle it prevents you from seeing where you're dripping because it both blocks your line of sight, as well blocking any light from shining inside, leaving the tube very dark. So because of these things, traditional dripping becomes nearly impossible. All you need to do is make sure that the cartridge is filled completely with liquid. Then you put it in your e-pipe, and drip a few drops into the hole that was drilled. Since all the foam is completely saturated, when you drip the couple of drops they push all of the e-liquid down through the foam and at the other side (the side exposed to the atomizer) and for however much you dripped in the hole, a similar amount of e-liquid will come out on the atomizer end of the cart. However, if you decided to change flavors while using this method, after you drip the new flavor in through the hole, you will have to wait until all of the old flavor is all vaporized before you can taste the new flavor, because the new flavor has to be pushed all the way through and outall the old e-liquid below it.

3. It's just so much easier and less of a hassle now without having the take the cartridge out of the e-pipe to refill the cart, top off the cart, or drip with the cart. And when you take the cart out it's always coated in e-liquid, and that can be a real pain in the ass if you don't have someplace to wash your hands.

So again, this idea was just a way for me to deal with carts that need constant topping off and I also needed a way to refiill them quickly and easily without having to touch them. Drilling a hole in it had nothing to do with preventing vacuum suction.

Stellar Raul! Keep us up to date on the new flavors you try. Whether or not the 601 can consistently provide an accurate flavor representation is critical!

Thanks Hexum....i would like to try a good tobacco flavor with the pipe. i used to have marlboro from ruyandirect...i didnt like it. unfortunately...i gave it away before i even thought of getting the 601.

Hey - I have a question for some of you more experiences 601 users. How long of a draw are you typically able to take? I seem to be cutting out around the three second mark...Maybe I just can't suck hard enough...lol

And here's an observation from the two atomizers I have. Wouldn't you think that the best position for the wicking bridge on the atomizer, given the way the cart fits, would be horizontal when the pipe is positioned for use? I have one that's vertical and the other is in the 10 O'clock. This does't easily allow for maximum contact of the bridge with the cart filler. I notice a huge difference in vapor production and throat hit when the cart is not positioned for maximum contact with the bridge...Anyone else??

bri - the DSE601 does not have a cutoff. If it does, I have not hit it yet. Three seconds is not right, and strobe effect is definitely wrong. If the batteries are fully-charged and this is still happening, you need to seek warranty replacement. I believe forum member Howard is having a similar problem (different thread) and is going through a warranty replacement right now.

Didn't you buy a spare atomizer? Does the second atomizer do the same thing?

As long as the material surrounding the bridge and atomizer wicks properly, I don't think bridge orientation matters. If the stuffing in the cart is recessed when you pull the cart out for topping off, it is contacting the atomizer bridge. I can't say I have noticed that there is an optimal position.

Hey Chef - I do have a second atomizer - Just tried it and I get the same thing. Maybe I just need to work on my technique. I think the strobing was due to a slight flooding of the atomizer.

I fiddled around with different draw techniques and duplicated the strobe light thing you described. You are drawing way too lightly. I suppose no one can claim that 'you suck'.
