The juice consumption isn't that dramatic. I'd say 10-15% more.
Also, I get MUCH more satisfaction out of the 510 and find myself using it a lot less than my Evo and pen (and less than the 901 I'm testing now)...I actually got over 5 hours out of a 510 battery today because I just wasn't using it that much and I was totally satisfied...no cravings, at all.
So, yes; they use more juice but it seems that cost comes with the benefit of less use and more satisfaction.

I think the juice consumption goes up because the atty is burning off more juice and burning hotter as compared to a non-manual switch e-cig.
So I don't think that you are necessarily getting more nic consumption, since the atty is burning off some of it.
Or am I off-base with this thinking?

I wouldn't think that this is correct, if the heat of a cigarette / cigar / pipe is taken in to consideration. I am not sure that nicotine is effected by heat in that way and it doesn't need the PG / VG medium to travel once it is vaporized.

I'm curious to find out if there's any difference between the Janty version of the atomizer (the ones with the wide gold band) and the Joye version (with the thin gold band.) All the information I've been able to find here suggests that the atomizers are equally compatible with the various switched, non switched, LED, non LED combinations of batteries, regardless of manufacturer (if there even is more than one manufacturer.) I like the look of the wide band model, so I ordered a new starter kit from e-smokeytreats.com. I already have a thin band version, so it'll be nice to have both. The way I see it, this is my device of choice for the foreseeable future so it makes sense to have a total of four atomizers and batteries, along with two chargers and some additional carts. I have the PCC and I agree, it's essential.
If anyone can show any difference between the two atomizers, that would be of interest to me. If they're the same, that's good too.
Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that they all don't get banned by the FDA. Time to stock up on juice too...

It should be here early next week. I have a fresh, unused atomizer from my current thin band kit. If there's any difference, I'll shoot some pictures and post them here.
Also, can you tell me what the box was like? Is it the little white box that Joye's come in or is it a black one like the Janty branded Dura-C? Just curious.

I've seen my liquid use just about double when I started using manual switch e-cigs. Since my vaping habits haven't changed I would think it has to be that more liquid is lost to the burning of the hotter atty.
I also have noticed that when I'm dripping with a manual switch e-cig, I don't get as many drags as I did with an auto switch e-cig.
Something along the lines of lighting a cigarette with a Bic lighter (auto switch e-cig) then lighting a cigarette with a blow torch (manual switch e-cig).

Ah, yes...there is certainly an increase in juice usage. I am sure there's also a corresponding increase in nicotine delivery but I am pretty sure the increases are rational and I know for a fact that the 510 satisfies me more so I end up using it less.
It's a trade off but I think it's an acceptable one.

Agreed. EST is quickly becoming my store of choice.
