great review terraphon....my 3rd Evo atomizer has just died on me today... and I have only had that one a couple of weeks ...and even worse than that I haven't even been using it for the two weeks because I have been rotating 3 new ones all the time. I might give a pilot atomizer a try.

i wonder if the pilot atomizer and intellicig battery would be the better combo? better atomizer, longer life batter?
which brings another question - what's the battery life like on the pilot batteries? 4 hours?

I get a full day out of my Pilot battery. 10 hours easy I would say on a heavy vape day.

This is just what I was wondering. Is it worth getting batteries from Intellicig to use with the Pilot?

You're right, you don't need the Evo. Don't get me wrong, I love my evo but I'm also not brand-centric. I don't care if it's an evo or a pilot or an elephant-balls e-cig as long as it performs the same.
You're in good shape with your pilot.

Yeah, the EVO is a monster. As for the difference, I think that it may be attributable to the difference in construction causing the pilot atomizer to heat up faster. I think this produces the larger vapor cloud and I think the higher volume of vapor masks the "throat hit" with its body.
If that makes sense.

The main thing I get from watching this is that clearly both the Evo and the Pilot whack out vapour - which is great!

I think Parked may havce a juice issue. Watch my TW- 24mg Marlboro liquid review and you'll see what an M-401 with hot juice can do to your throat.

On the other hand, when atomizer gets a bit drier, not dry, think kinda optimal, throat hit gets weaker, but vapor goes wild.
I've noticed the same thing. I've also read that the majority of the nicotine you get from an e-cig is delivered at the "end" of the "draw"...after the atomizer has heated up. If the Evo atomizer is a bit cooler and isn't nuking the nicotine into oblivion, this could account for the bigger kick.

Just as an FYI, that juice I was using gave mean vapor, straight out of the box BUT...It's also cut with glycerin (about 50/50) so it's making MAD clouds.
For me, the vapor is one of the most important things so I order higher nic concentrations and use glycerin for the vapor.

Do it. I have 2 of each (I ordered some pilot atomizers from Steve for my evo and was actually using a friend's pilot for that review) and the pilot atomizers work VERY well.
When my evo atomizers burn out, I don't think I'll be replacing them with Evo atomizers.

Should be identical to the evo batteries. Maybe a bit less because no 5 second cut-off but maybe a bit more because no cleaning cycle.
Either way, I did some testing with my bud's pilot and the battery life is comparable to the intellicig batteries.

CORRECT!

I wouldn't think so. Just stick with the pilot batteries. They're pretty much the same thing EXCEPT that I've noticed that the Evo batteries have a slightly easier draw to them.
I haven't figured out why, yet, but it's true and other people I know with 401's have seen the difference as well.

Wow, Pete that sucks man. I wonder why your atomizers are like that, ive had my evo for about 2 months now and although i bought extra atomizers the original one i got still works fine(havent even had to use any of the back ups yet).
Great review Terr, as i was also wondering about the pilot and the verdict on it. Sounds like its as good as the evo, thats good news. Might have to order some of those atomizers from puresmoker, then i'll have all kinds of extra atomizers laying around for back up because I just cant kill my first one lol.

Is this available in the UK yet ? I think this could solve my annoying problem with the cut out, if I was to just purchase the Pilot atomiser ..... Sitting here now waiting for it to kick in, yet again !

The cut out is controlled by the chip which is in the battery.
