Aside from my one and only convert (my boyfriend), I have seen one person.

At my last job, she was vaping outside in the smoker's section. It was a mini of some kind, maybe a disposable. Not sure. It was at least the length of a 100, an automatic, and looked exactly like a cigarette.

Coworker at that job also used to vape as well. Never saw her do it though.

And funny that, I met my boyfriend at that last job, and he was still working there when I converted him!

Other than that, not a soul, though I would love to stumble across some stranger "in the wild."

Last night, dancing at a honky-tonk, one of the guys there had a silver bullet with a tank.
30 years of smoking, over 3 packs a day before I started vaping. Then I bought my first PV. Cigarettes have lost their power over me. I've been free since 10/06/2011. Thanks ECF!

Here in So Cal, only vapers I've seen are the ones that go to the brick and mortar places and friends that I try to convert. Not much luck seeing them 'in the wild' Though I did see one person with a cig-a-like from a gas station. Haven't really seen anyone with a mod or at least a pv with a tank

Many vapers don't openly vape in public because they
don't want to run the risk of drawing negative attention
    to themselves.

Hopefully there will be a day when they will "come out"
and join the rest of us who aren't so apprehensive

HINT: You don't have to respond to idiots
    Just ignore them.

When I first started to openly vape in public
I thought there would be negative reactions.
Never happened ... just a few odd looks.
Of course, I don't stare at non-smokers trying
    to engage in conversations !!!!!

PS: No I don't go outside and stand in smoking areas
to vape. I don't smoke and flat refuse to reinforce
the myth that vaping is smoking

I've had vapers walk up to me and say it's nice
to see a fellow vaper. Yeah, well that only happened
because I was vaping in public (as if that's some kind of big deal)

What our movement really needs today ...
is for all of us to openly vape in public.

THINK about how ya feel when seeing others vaping in public.
We are ambassadors for the movement and vaping in public
will encourage other vapers to feel more comfortable.

I couldn't agree more. My experience parallels yours. A few odd looks. Some curious questions but, never a negative reaction. On the contrary, for the most part, non-smokers seem to be the most curious and they think it's really cool once they understand it. Smokers have their doubts but, want to know whether it works and what it costs. Former smokers seem to feel you're cheating but, they aren't offended.

I have yet to see another vaper in public. Someday though...

I'm in Southern California, never seen another person vaping.
I do vape in public but generally keep it low key.

I'm in Minneapolis Minnesota, aside from the mall kiosk guys I've only seen one other person and he was using a mini in a bar. I don't generally vape in public buildings aside from bars but I do get strange looks when I whip out my Lavatube and proceed to produce huge clouds of vapor. On several occasions smokers have told me that they tried ecigarettes in the past without success and had no idea there were bigger and better options available and this is exactly why we need to vape proudly and openly. Although gas station ecigs put me on the path to quit, many smokers make a judgment based on their experience with low end gas station crap without any further research.

Brings to mind the 2 most common conversations I've had with smokers.

    1. "I've heard about those ... Do they work and taste like smoke? Which one is the best?"

    2. "I tried one that I got at a quick shop or gas station ... Didn't work for me."
