I wouldn't have minded rolling my own cigarettes; however, the problem is that I can't seem to manage to roll a darn cigarette to save my life. I just can't do it. I've watched people like Johnny Depp and others roll their own while on talk shows and such and they make it seem so easy yet I can't do it. I have no idea as to why. I'm extremely dexterous. I'm not ambidextrous but I do have a lot of dexterity in my hands or rather I did until the nerve damage as a result of the lupus and Sjogren's; however, even with lupus and Sjogren's there are things I am still good at doing that makes others just gawk because they can't and I can because of the dexterity.
Years ago before all my health problems when I was raising my daughter alone and my younger brother after my first marriage went to pieces and I was working multiple jobs, one of the jobs was building switches. I had an uncanny knack for it. I could build switches so fast that I had to take a break every hour for some 15 to 20 minutes to prevent the guy that came around to set our area's production levels from raising the production levels for everyone all because I had the ability to build 2 to 3 times the switches than any other employee in my department. I didn't mind the break. It gave me a chance to get a cigarette and take a few well-needed 5 to 10 minute snoozes outside of sleeping through lunch hour because I had to leave that job, pick up my brother and my daughter then take them to the evening/night sitter so I could go to my night job where I worked until almost daylight then started all over again. I did this for a number of years until I put myself in the hospital from exhaustion, fatigue, dehydration, and as an added bonus, the eating disorder anorexia. I was working so much and trying to sleep at lunch not to mention having so little money that I paid for my brother and daughter to eat but I went sometimes days without eating; much of the time I was simply too tired to eat or I actually forgot to eat. I should add that I wasn't receiving any financial support for raising my daughter or for raising my brother and I didn't qualify for assistance with anything so I had to make it on my own. It was a long row to hoe but it was worth everything I sacrificed and I'd do it again if I had it to do over again. I lived on Mt. Dew drinks, cigarettes, and speed.
BTW, what is this FSC? What is it the FDA thinks it's supposed to do? Is it a chemical that is supposed to get people more hooked or unhooked on cigarettes or does the FDA even know? It must have gone into cigs after I began using e-cigs or else it hadn't made it this far south by the time I switched over to e-cig.
Forgive my ignorance. Usually I'm up to date on these things but I've not been feeling well the last few days again. I've caught yet another cold, which has thrown me into yet another lupus flare. If my posts seem to be scrambled in thought or sort of all over the place, please forgive me. It's just part of the disease. I'm not illiterate. It's just the effects of brain fog, which is one of the many side effects of lupus. DH and I already had a bout with the flu. We had that the day after we got our flu vaccine; we must have been exposed to it before getting the vaccine since the flu vaccine itself is a dead vaccine, which is the only reason I can have it. If it were a live vaccine, I'd end up getting the disease the vaccine is meant to prevent. It's the reason I can't have say the smallpox vaccine. It's a small live dose of the smallpox that makes the body build an immunity to smallpox but for me, it could very well be a death sentence as if lupus wasn't one already. LOL!
It's rained for two weeks now. That's not helping.

People are so small minded these days, If they hear something on the news its gospel. The media never lies..........yeah right. If it's on CNN its gotta be true. If more people would seek the truth in many things not just e-cigs we would all be better off because we would have better politicians for one thing. Oh well, I'll just keep on vaping my clove flavored anti-freeze.

Two people have brought up the Fda warnings to me when I was showing them my PV.
I just asked them when they have known our government not to be greedy lying S.O.B.'s and then gave them a little common sense about what they would rather put in their body. They both agred with me.

I'm not really trying to be a smart-@ss or perhaps I am... I'm a bit on the fence right now because my mind is so foggy at the moment but the next time someone brought up the FDA warnings esp those regarding the antifreeze ingredients I'd have to (I've done it too) ask them if that means they will be giving up water too because in case they didn't know it, water is in anti-freeze too so if the FDA is that hellbent on crucifying e-cigs in the media because some barely detectable ingredient is found in antifreeze then they had better darn well cut off all the water supplies because antifreeze contains water too and we wouldn't want the entire e-cig population and prospective e-cig population inhaling/vaping or drinking something like water that goes into the making of anti-freeze!
That just burns my backside!
I've been checking the little signature lines where others have there days analog free and amounts saved with the analogs not smoked and all I want to do is to make it to the days that others on these boards have made it. I know I will get there soon enough but I can't wait until I hit that day 100 or day 200 or 300. I'm envious but in a good way of those of you who have been vaping for so long because I've read your stories about how much better you feel and what you can do now that you couldn't while smoking tobacco cigarettes. I want to be one of those vapes with that much time behind me. Granted, time passed so fast from July 7th, 2009 but still, I can't wait until I hit that day 100.
Statistics show that people with lupus in the stage where I'm at have a mortality rate of 10 years. Here I am going into my 9th year and I'm not bed-bound, I'm not wheelchair bound, and I can still do most of the things others do only I have to be careful to stay out of crowds, watch what I eat, always be mindful of the amount of alcohol I drink because it can react with the tremendous amount of medications I take to slow the lupus and help with the painful and uncomfortable side effects of lupus. I plan on beating that 10-year mortality rate on lupus and I've found a way now to keep the one vice I have remaining after blindness took away my ability to drive and read printed books & etc, nerve damage took away my ability to stay in the medical transcription field, and then lupus and Sjogren's took away my ability to spontaneously plan anything in advance or do as much as I want in a day's time because I know if I go over my limits I will end up bed-ridden for anywhere from a few days to a week or more but now, I can still get my nicotine and do so WITH my doctors' blessings. That's a tall order that I never thought would ever come to pass but it did and I am truly thankful. I KNOW DH's is thankful. I turn into "super-B" when going through nicotine withdrawal and unwittingly take out the frustration and withdrawal on anyone within the realm of my universe.
So, to those who would even attempt to talk me out of vaping with the e-cigs, they know where they can step and how far to get there because as long as I can gain access to & fund purchases to the supplies I need to continue to vape, I will do so and anyone who doesn't like it can go jump off a tall mountain without a chute.

Ive had exactly 2 people chime in with "The news said the FDA said they were bad!!".
"yeah and so is choking down "fda" approved cigs, 4000+ chemicals, oh like benzine, uric acids, acetone and who knows what else in that combo with the new FSC crap."
Shut them the hell up and will be shutting them the hell up forever just by me cutting down and then stopping my analogs. Went from 2-3 packs a day to 5 in the last 24 hours.. My sense of smell was always wicked strong and had to use smoking to kind of dull it but no more. Ive been doing laundry all day cleaned the apartment and only had like 2 cups of coffee. My mother had to move in with me and will be getting her set up soon, she is impressed that I am cutting back so quickly.
Damn you 510 and ecopure I wanted to quit smoking not my double shot in a large coffee habit.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to pass this information on to you all. This has been on the go for awhile now and closed Sept 29 ... please feel free to add your voice.
FDA taking public comments on tobacco regulation
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA )is taking public comments through Sept. 29 on how it should implement the regulation of tobacco products. The agency said in a federal register notice that it is particularly interested in approaches and actions it should consider to reduce tobacco use and protect public health.
Comments can be submitted to the agency online at - regulations.gov or by mail to the Division of Dockets Management [HFA-305], Food and Drug Administration, 5630 Fishers Lane, Room 1061, Rockville, MD 20852. Comments should be identified with the docket number, FDA-2009-N-0294.

If the FDA wants to pull the e-cigs off the market for the few chemical that are in them, until more testing is done, they should immediately stop the sale of all FSC cigs. There was no testing on them to see how much harm they would do to people using them. E-cigs have been on the market longer then the FSC cigs. I haven't heard of any serious side effects from them, but have heard of a lot of people having serious medical problems after using the FSC cigs. If the FDA doesn't do anything about them, the people should file a class action law suite against them.
They are more worried about getting rid of the flavors in some tobacco, then doing something that would actually be for the health of people. I have no faith in the FDA at all. Just read about the side effects of Chantix and they will leave things like that on the market to kill people. This is just a small sample of the hypocrisy that goes on with them and our government.

I had a pair of log chokers pipe in and tell me I was going to get sick from vaping...
I told them sure so is sucking down a few hundred thousand dollars of analog over a lifetime, not to mention I have gone form a 2+ pack a day smoker to maybe 1/2 of a light cig.
That peaked their interest just a hair and explained and demoed my suckstick as I refer to my 510 now. One was blown away and asked for more info the other just kept blabbing on about FDA this media that, we just ignored him.

Ignorance
I agree people are very small minded and ready to give there 2cents about something they have no idea about... I do however like the fact that even in the face of all this negative press e smokers have not sat back and taken it with grace but showed the type of action this country and others need to show we WILL NOT be silent we WILL UNITE and we WILL be HEARD>>>I LOVE THIS VAPOR NATION<<<<< Thanks for restoring my faith in people!!! keep on keepin' on!
