Though tempted to make comments on people getting asses jacked, and calling moms....I'm going to refrain from doing so...but I'm not quite sure I follow you entirely.

I'm assuming you mean getting busted with/for ecigs, I'm sure people have been busted. Big deal. People get arrested all the time. The thing is, in Iowa, it's LEGAL. There is not a violation of the law.

Power Tripping? Really? Come on. Having a little fun with an unusual and unique, legal product? That's power tripping? I see your occupation is listed as police detective...I see police do alot more power tripping than anyone ever could with an ecig where I'm from.

I mean no disrespect...I've had alot of friends that were police officers, and family of friends, and even my own family. Hell...I've thought of going to school for CJ. But fear mongering over something like this? No. OMG someone might get arrested. oh so scary. or not. We live in a time where you don't need to be an implement of fear. cool off. This thread isn't about pissing police off, just our experiences.

and also, a call to my mom would get me laughed at if I ever went to jail.

First I have to apologize for popping off. I was sick, tired and way to crabby last nite.

Second my comment was directed towards a fellow Chicagoan where real crime is so rampant, and the department is so short staffed that pestering someone for smoking would be silly.

    Again Sorry.

No problem, my point matches yours, especially if a chicago cop harrasses for smoking!!!! I was drinking last nite anyway, we need "good cops".

It's no problem man, I totally understand where you are coming from now. I just wanted you to know that I wasn't trying to show any disrespect for the police in any of this...but yeah...in a big city...it makes a difference for sure.

Wal-Mart, Safeway, Fred Meyers, almost every where... I love the looks of perplexed people...
But I was approached by the popo once... it was inside Safeway at about one in the mornin... I was puffin on my supermini in the line as people watched me with horror, the two officers approached me and they were like Put out that cigarette fiercely becase i was juust doing it under their nose... but I showed them what it was and they were cool with it... plus, they bought five packs of the disposable e-cigs... I am sooooo gangsta

i'm sure it's alot different in chicago and other big cities....but, out here in the "boonies" of iowa, it's a wonder they didn't pull guns and call for back-up.....these cops need a little excitement in their lives.....they can turn the smallest thing into the crime of the century.....the smoking ban in iowa is still new and most people don't know about ecigs.......cops will jump right on it......guess it beats sitting in the patrol car and checking the speed of horse and buggies and watching the corn grow......lol!

It appears that sometimes posts don't display fully when I view them...when I made that initial reply the post from the other guy from chicago was not showing for me. I've had it happen like that quite a bit on this forum...wow...the only reason I got a little hot about it is because to me it showed up right after one of my posts...big mixup...I apologize again to you invidregis.

Phildo No harm, no foul. It's was an ugly night, my skin was a little too thin for my tastes.

I was wanting to start a new thread about this topic till I saw this one. My fiance was puffing away on his black penstyle while we were in the car, and I noticed an officer pull up beside us. I wanted him to put it away as I was worried they would think he was smoking weed. Not that an explanation wouldn't get us out of it quickly, but just didn't want the hassle of being pulled over.

Has anyone been pulled over from smoking one of these? The white w/orange led's look like real cigs, but the black and colored ones look like one hitters! Trog's screwdriver looks like paraphernalia too...lol. Just curious .

At first I thought for sure I wanted the black one, but I'm considering a white just so I don't worry about that. Here in TN they don't hesitate to pull you over if they suspect something. A girl I knew got stopped for smoking one of those long skinny cigs!

Hopefully soon word will spread and everyone won't have to be constantly giving explanations. Till then, I guess it's best to get the word out!
