I should always have 3 starter kits on me
I went to Denver for a few days for work. It was my first trip out of town since I put down analog smokes. I packed up my 401 and naively only brought one extra cart, an extra battery, my usb charger, and one 5ml bottle of JC original with me.
I didn't smoke in the airport, I don't know why. Habbit I guess. But once we were in the air I thought I'd give it a try...
The people next to me:
Rabid non smokers. They thought it smelled nice, and congratulated me on stopping smoking.
The flight crew:
Not a word.
So I was sitting there vaping it up at 30,000 feet when a guy shouted "Hey, what is that?"
I looked over at a desperate looking man in the middle seat of the row behind me. I smiled and tried to explain that it was a personal atomizer. He couldn't hear me.
So I got up and stood in the isle and took the 401 apart to explain what it was. He was enchanted, and so was everyone else.
Then I put it in my mouth and said "Watch..."
I pulled a nice long drag and French inhaled the vapor. The surrounding three rows said "Ooooh!" and everyone wanted me to explain it again. So I did.
The desperate man asked, "Can I try that?"
I smiled and said "Your mouth is a little bacteria factory and I don't want you to share it with me, sorry."
He was frustrated. I was never much for letting people take a drag off my cigarette unless I knew them well, or was already sharing saliva with them. Normally I would just give the person a cigarette, but since I wasn't going to just give him my 410, what else could I do? Because everyone was delighted and asking a lot of questions, I turned around and began to explain again how it isn't "smoke" and it's not bad for you when the man extended his swollen arm with a fist full of 20's in it.
"I'll give you a hundred bucks for it right now!"
At first I thought he was offering me $100 for a drag. But I figured out he was trying to buy the 401 off me for $100. So I declined. But I took the time to write everything I knew at the time down for him to help him get started vaporising.
Something similar seems to happen almost everywhere I go. I know I always made smoking look really good, but I think I make vaporising even better because I do it in restaurants (remember sitting after a meal for hours talking and laughing over coffee? Why don't non smokers do this?) and almost always someone nervously approaches me and wants to know everything about it.
I am starting to think that I need to carry a few starter kits with me everywhere I go...

You should do could make a few $, people always ask me if they can try my 510, I always let them.
Nothing wrong with swapping a bit of saliva

That is a cool story. when I vape people just ignore it but I have not done it in a place you can't smoke. I don't really want to draw attention until the regulations in Oregon settle down.

That's a very neat story. I wouldn't ever have the balls to vape on a plane though, because with my luck the plane would be diverted for an emergency landing and I would go to jail until they figured out that I'm not a terrorist with a bomb. >< I thought that your story was going to get ugly when you said a guy yelled "Hey, what's that". Phew.
You were a little mean with (the way you stated) the comment about not sharing with the guy, but that's your choice to not share. I guess that I'm just not nearly as worried about germs and stuff, so much other bad stuff around, I think that germs are the least of my worries. I'd let just about anyone hit mine and just wipe off the mouthpiece afterwards. As long as they didn't look really skanky or very physically ill or something.

I'm not really a germ-o-phobe, but it was just some strange guy, all fat and sweaty... wild eyed and loud.
Funny... maybe if he looked differently I might have felt differently about it.
I am typically a very generous person, but I think when it comes to passing around the vaporizer on an airplane, I think maybe it turns out I'm a little bit stingier than I had previously imagined.
Ha!

I hadn't thought of it that way... Maybe next time I will!

Hey now, there's fat and sweaty people on this forum! And maybe he was wild eyed and loud because he was afraid of flying and was scared of the mysterious device you had.
I wouldn't object to most people looking at my device. I was a bit nervous today when I was in a bar and some guy that looked to be in his late 60's or mid 70's was looking at it today. He wanted me to hand it to him and he hit the battery a few times and I was afraid that he would break it somehow! :P He didn't actually puff on it or anything, but he was hitting the battery and I didn't want it to run down since my other battery was at home charging. Wasn't sure if I would let him hit it or not if he asked, he was quite old and haggard looking, probably a bad alcoholic since he was in there at 1pm drinking beer. (I don't drink, I was visiting an old friend that works there)
But I have let my friends hit it and would let most strangers do it, even if they were fat and sweaty.

Then when I landed in LA I went outside for a smoke then had to queue back up for an hour to get back in! By the time I was back in I needed another smoke lol
I hate airports + planes!
I tell you what, if I wasn't afraid of flying so much, I would have stayed up all night and then slept through all of that BS! I've only been in an airplane twice on trips, well technically eight planes since I went on two trips which had one connection each back and forth. I was finally able to sleep on the second trip that I took the year after the first trip, on the first plane back before the last connection flight. I was so scared every time except that last time, especially when no friends went with me on the second trip.
The only reason I didn't sleep on the last connection was because it went from like Detroit Michigan to Columbus Ohio, which isn't very far and it only took like 15 mins to travel probably 200 or 300 miles (not sure on that, I suck with distances sometimes). We got up in the air, the pilot did his little talk, a few mins went by, then he said "Alright, we are making our approach to Columbus International Airport now...". I was pretty shocked, that was the shortest flight that I had ever been on!
