E-Cigarettes in Public Have you used e-cigarettes in no-smoking areas? How did those around you react? Is it the perfect way around the smoking ban?

To hell with them, if you have taken the time to show them what it is and that it's not smoking and nothing is on fire and nothing harmful is being expelled then you have gone above and beyond your duty. Has anyone actually had someone turn into an ass about their vaping in public? I find it curious that so many of you are worried about what others think, it's fascinating.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahaha!!

Wow...that just cracked me up

WOW Crestus we live in the same town, I haven't vaped in Applebee's yet so now I have a heads up, It was probably because you were a frequent customer and someone said something to the manager .. I am thinking it is the one on Enterprise right? I have vaped all over this town all stores and restaurants and the hospital no one ever says anything to me ... now I don't vape on a e-cig I vape with the Prodigy, Chuck and SB all big mods, dont look anything like a cig so even if someone saw a little vapor out of the corner of there eye by the time they looked all they would see is something they have never seen before and dismiss it.. anyway this is how Im doing it ...

In the hospital??? Now that's bloody bold. Do you also vape at funerals? Inside your kid's school? in courtrooms in front of judges? Wow...

Umm I have vaped in my kids school, I have also vaped in a dentist office, a doctors office, and if I was in a courtroom and had my vaporizer I would not hesitate to use it there either, it's not illegal. I don't go running around like a loon blowing vapor in people's faces but I won't be a little wallflower who falls in line with a stern look either, that's for chumps.

I would rather sit and observe others discreetly (without staring).
Totally agree! Could not have said it better!

Well wouldnt it be a good thing to start going out with the smokers and then explain and help convert??I think the more people who know the better and if people clearly notice the changes of smokers to vapors and become educated in the fact that this habbit is a much better solution to analogs it would send the right messages faster?(maybe)ie cleaner air at the entrance of the restaurant etc....at least until people are in the know.

Look, if there is no specific law banning it, then it isn't banned. Simple as that. If you are in an establishment not owned by you, the owner of said establishment reserves the right to impliment any rules in addition to any laws (ie. No shoes, no shirt, no service). If they ask us to stop vaping or get out, then they are within their right. If we vape and they say it's ok, then god damn it, it's ok! So long as their are no laws stating otherwise. Laws don't tell us what we can do. They tell us what we cannot.

That's the basis of English Common Law (think American, possibly excluding some parts of Louisiana )
- The law defines what is ILLEGAL, all else is legal.
- Innocent until proven guilty

Under the Napoleonic system (think France)
- the law defines what is LEGAL, all else is illegal.
- Guilty until proven innocent

I'm not a lawyer so it's almost certainly not quite that simple, but I've heard it explained that way.
