At first, I would share my excitement with anyone and everyone. I have become more selective.
Last weekend someone said "What are you smoking?!?! I replied, "Dope." Nothing more was said. She was a nonsmoker and was just making conversation anyway. If people have a genuine interest I explain. I still love explaining it, just not all the time.
I think the most important thing is probably to refer to it as a "vaporizer", and not a "cigarette". A nicotine alternative, a smoking alternative, a nicotine delivery device, what I suck on now, just anything but a "cigarette". It is NOT a cigarette.

Me neither, it is honestly starting to annoy me! I am really thinking about buying some disposable units to sell people. That way it would quickly filter out the genuinely interested from the people who are just nosy.
No one bothers me anywhere outside of the bar I work at, but I'm getting a little tired of being a walking infomercial. Its getting to the point I am ducking in the corner, and into the bathroom to vape.

I just wish I could bump into another vaper. Its kinda lonely being the only one. But there are even sub groups of us vapers. For instance, I'm a vaper who still considers myself a smoker and view other smokers as my brethren. I tend to call what I'm doing "smoking" so I can attract smokers instead of non smokers since its smokers we are trying to convert anyway. I try to use the language of smoking and will still fight for smokers rights even though tobacco cigarette smoking is pretty much behind me save for maybe I'll have a cigarette on a holiday or something....maybe a cigar.
Then there are vapers who consider themselves a separate entity from smokers and smoking in general. I don't have an issue either way.
I do really want to encounter another vaper though since they would be doing exactly what I'm doing and we could exchange technique, ideas, and our favorite juices and models.
I still love my cig smokers and all I want for them to be is safe. I always believed that anti smokers went about getting people to quit in totally the wrong way by attacking the act of smoking instead of how harmful tobacco is to the lungs. I believe smoking is not evil or shameful, and the e cig is finally allowing us to smoke safely. I liken e cig smoking to indulging in eating tasty food that isn't so healthy ie. cheeseburgers or me being from philly, CHEESESTEAKS!!! Actually, its probably worse for you to eat the Mcdonalds cheeseburger than smoke the e cig.

I'm pretty much a noobie, so I think its kinda fun to show my e-cig off and usually the person asking already knows what it is, but they are just curious about how it works, etc. because they've never seen one up close and personal.
My boss (a non-smoker and a person who really does not like to be around smoking) thought it was so cool the first day I brought it to work, she was calling me out to the front counter all day so I could show people how it worked!
She even lets me use it in the office if I want!

You know, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea for exposure if some of the suppliers could get people on the street. These pitches we all make with our e-cigs could easily sell a couple of them a day. That would make more vapers, which would get the product more attention. More attention, more pressure to make sure they don't get banned and get proper representation.
It's an idea used and abused sickeningly by Smoking Everywhere. With their pushy sales people and overpriced product. Yet, hey, what can help keep these things around should be used and abused for the cause.

Haha exactly scrye my opinion on the smoking everywhere products is that they are basically crap but the people who buy them (or even just see the marketing) and are truly interested will do more research into them, find out they were/would have been ripped off but still want one, and get something like a 510 to start vaping and hey if it takes an overpriced product to save a few smokers from smoking analogs I'm all for it...

I got my friend to start vaping, now I can say,He'll tell you all about it.He likes to explain.

Can't say I have a problem with it. I demo mine at least once every Friday (when I'm DJing). If it encourages more folks to look into / take up vaping & increases awareness of non smokers, then it's got to be a good thing.
The bar I DJ in is pro e-cig & would like to stock them if it's not too cost prohibitive for them.

Oh, yes, this is familiar...I haven't had any issue just being out in public, it's definitely happening at work though. Over 500 people at my company, so probably over 100 smokers just going by the percentage of people who smoke. I don't take smoke breaks now, I do demonstrations.
I think almost everyone has seen it now, which is good, because it's not as much fun as it used to be. I sometimes feel like I'm being treated as the expert on something I just picked up doing two weeks ago! Lots of questions, you all know the drill, I'm sure. "How much does it cost?", "How do you get them?", "What kind should I get?" and my favorite "OMG what's coming out of it?" Two people I know have already ordered one since I told them about it. I should be selling them!
