    Default A Questioning Demeanor

I attended a fundraiser last weekend that was located at a Private Catholic School. The fundraiser was for adults only. There were no kids. They were serving alcohol of all types in a large auditorium filled with poker and black jack tables. You couldn't win any money, but instead you could win tickets to put into drawings to win prizes.

The people there consisted of upper middle-class, who's child probably attended that school. I went with my friend and his mom who is an elementary school teacher. I showed her the ecig and how I could stealth vape and she thought is was neat.

So here we are drinking and playing black jack and I was stealth vaping. I looked over at another black jack table behind the dealer and there was a dark haired lady who looked to be in her mid-thirties that was giving me the stink eye. Actually it was kinda like this . The look on her face was priceless. I wish I had a camera. She must have seen a whisp of vapor escape. She was definitely questioning my demeanor. I just looked away and played a few more rounds. Then I look over again and she was still staring at me. Only this time the look on her face was more like this

At that very moment my friend wanted to go outside and smoke an analog, and I thought it was a good idea to go elsewhere at that moment as well. So I went with him and vaped openly outside. There was a funraiser volunteer who was smoking and saw me and said 'Thats one of them hydro-smokes.'

Anyways I didn't see that lady for the rest of the night, and nobody else gave me any trouble, and I continued to stealth vape the whole time.

Using sign language with the black jack dealer, such as tapping the table to hit or waving over your cards to stay is good when you are holding vapor in your lungs and can't talk during a game.

I didn't win any raffle prizes, but it was fun.

I know that stealth vape stink eye quite well myself. I stealth vaped at my desk at work once, and this older, curmudgeonly-manager type gave me a serious case of stink bomb eye. I stopped the stealth vaping post haste.

I work part time for a company that 12 years ago let people smoke at their desks!! I showed my boss my e-cig and explained it to him... He was impressed!

The next time I talked to him, I told him that it could become an HR problem. He asked why? Well, it looks like smoking.. He said but it's not! So can I do it in the building? Sure! Why not? You're not smoking....

We are not smoking but it does all come down to your demeanor. We are letting out vapor that looks like smoke, and it does not look good if your are working at a place where customers can see you.

No matter where I am, I make sure children do not see me vape because it looks too much like smoking. I actually started making sure kids didn't see me smoke a while back when I I got to a point in my life and realized just how dang impressionable they really are.

I hope others will do the same.

    Sad Society,
This story is priceless! I was laughing as I read it because I could literally picture some old lady giving you "the stink eye" LMAO...
Glad you had a good time- too bad you didn't win any prizes...
I can't get over it. She was probably trying to figure out... "Is he smoking? I can't say anything until I know for sure..." LOL Then she just lost nerve to even approach you... LOL

I agree...kids will not only see that you are ok doing it, they are fascinated by it. I do not do it around my 10 & 13 year old kids even though I have explained to them it is healthier for me but is still very addicting. Another reason I don't is that I also believe there is still some residual nicotine in the exhaled vapor...it doesn't just magically all fall out of the vapor in your lungs. For that fact alone I am sure this will be banned...and taxed...same as analogs eventualy. Stock up now but protect and teach the kids so they dont have to deal with the crap we have to put up with.

Er if it's banned, what would be the point in taxing it?
