Default I myself am getting tired of being a follower....

Not being a great writer i am sure that i will not be able to get the whole thought out and written here, But here it goes..
    People please consider...
All throughout these forums i keep reading, don't make waves, be nice to everyone, don't force our E-CIG's on anyone... don't call em Cigs. We are even now trying to create a passive world to please everyone else but us.
    We can demand also...
I guarantee you this... If you don't stand up for yourself and E-CIGarettes (i refer to them as this because this is what the public is being feed anyway). YOU .... ME..... AND EVERYONE ELSE is going down... cause we will be politically correct and succumb to the power..
Create controversy... We are watching wrongful and bad publicity about us anyway.. And we know that we are right..
Good or bad publicity gets more press and media..gives us more of a opportunity to state our case... The FDA and certain other org. can talk to the masses.. Well you try it... My vote is to just stand up for your right and don't be a mouse...(being nice here). NO, i am not a activist. Just watched all my life at things that i know are right and see them thrown under the rug cause some uptight ....... has more power than me...
PLEASE JUST THINK A LITTLE.. I know there are pros and cons to this, but without a fight we are going to be following wrongful laws that are wrong..
I am sure there is much more to write about but
    thank you....

I agree with you. I will not go out of my way to 'hide' my vaping and whenever/wherever I get the urge to vape I will do so. At the same time I am not going to vape outwardly and openly where I just know it is going to grab the attention of others who I know are in the mood for an argument - it's just not worth it. Those are the ones who are too stubborn to care one way or the other.

What I do is take the time to explain and demonstrate to anyone who is interested exactly what I'm doing and why. Unfortunately, I've also run across a few really, really stubborn smokers along the way as well. I've quickly learned to tell who they are and not to waste my time explaining anything to them.

The interesting thing is that for those non-smokers who I've explained them to, they are satisfied and have no problem with me vaping right beside them.

We're kind of like pioneers and we have to approach the general public both smokers and non-smokers in the right way.

I quit instantly with my first vape on 4 November 2009. Thank You ECF!

I agree totally with all you wrote. I just feel a kind of wimpyness coming from many here. Like lets not hurt anyone's feelings. Maybe if we are good little children we will be rewarded... No you will just do what our leaders want. I know we all want the same thing with this life saving device, but i just want everyone to stand up and not back down when the occasion does arise..
Ok, just one more thing. i do see occasions where people are blatant about vaping in places that you just don't have to.. Ex: Home dept, Walmart.. come on, please tell me when you were smoking you didn't wait to get back outside... use some common sense.
Yes, there you will create enemies... Even I would be pissed off.

I agree with you, tdwave, ...mostly. I call them e-cigs and always will. The best way you find them on the internet is by searching that word and that's what noobs and others search out when they want information. There's nothing wrong with that as far as I can see. There are also those who don't want their e-cig to look like the old cig. Why not? It's the new and improved version but we still do it for the nicotine, hand-to-mouth habit, and it is something we all were used to. Speaking of that, there are many who don't want their e-cig to look like the old analog cig. I can see where someone could hate the old analogs so bad that they want nothing to do with anything like them. That's fine with me. I actually like my e-cig looking kinda like the old analog and when it's noticed I can explain the difference to a smoker with a "cig" shape he or she can relate to right away. More complex e-cigs can be explained if they show more interest.
I am not afraid or ashamed of vaping in public and I think my M401 is far sexier than the old paper and leaves crap I once smoked.
I do not obviously vape in many places general smoking is not allowed but I do sneak it out of my pocket from time to time in those places. If someone says somthing, then I begin their introduction to the great world of e-cigs and vaping.

They are ecigs....try and search youtube for ecigs then search for vaporizers....

Apparently people think PV's have an entirely different, illegal, use.

Ok, so not to beat a dead horse here, but i ate my turkey, i am watching the Cowboys take care of the poor turkey Raiders.. No offense intended...
but i swear, i keep going around different threads and the biggest things i am reading is how we have to stop vaping in public, don't call em cigs or anything like that because we will offend non smokers... Well a couple more things. Look at it this way... most of us if not all of us were or are still smokers... so guess what, these people hate you already.. and lets be real, the only reason you started vaping is to try real hard to stop smoking. People that never smoked didn't wake up one day, go on the internet and find a e-cigarette ad and go... holy smokers, i want to do that... And lastly for now.. i would like someone that is forum knowledgeable to start a poll on what people think it should be called PV or E-Cigarette....and how we can inform all that are on here to coome together and stand up and say i am proud (sounds corny but this is what is needed so next time some maniac starts calling the management or the police,, you don't run with your tail between your legs... just please use smoker sense... that is what we are still doing, if you understand my comparison between smoking and vaping. To others it is the same thing... ok enough of me....
Some one take the horn please.. lets make some noise...ha

I agree with you 100% and I don't hide my vaping when I'm out in public. Why on earth should I? I'm not smoking... period.

I pick n choose where I vape in public. I love to spend time in the outside smoking areas explaining the PV. ONLY when I'm showing it off I call it the e-cig because I know if any of them go looking for it on the net then that is what they need to do a search on.
And, yes, I tell them about the forum. Some even write it down, but if they are like me, that piece of paper will get lost before they take the time to look into it.
Now, if I run into someone that throws a fit, I tell them it's a personal vaporizer and it keeps me off cigarettes. It gives them a reason to approve of the device and approve of my actions. After they make the turn around, I tell them it's also called the e cig because we need public opinion on our side.

Could you post the links to such threads...I've read posts on this forum for almost 9 months and don't think i've ever came across one post saying we shouldn't use e-cigs in public, other than the times where it is being respectful of others.

    I'd love to read them.......Thanks
