Default E-Cigarettes and Public School in California

Now, I don't want to come off that vaping is bad morally, Nor do I want to attest that it is something that can be looked upon as simple and mediocre as a cup of coffee (which it does currently have the potential), but, I have a rather trying interest in understanding the median of where the boundaries of public elementary, middle and high schools have in "smoke-free" and "tobacco-free" mandates that border their chain-link fences on red and white metal signs, as they do in many of the Southern California schools I am familiar with.

When I was quite a bit younger, it was illegal to smoke on campus as a teacher, but there were a number of teachers who managed to make little areas on campus far enough away from the prying eyes that could see, little places that were accessible to them, and unseen by those of us who did not have hall-passes or need to go to the side areas they were at, where they could have a cigarette.

Years later, as I was in highschool, this was entirely unpermitted. My highschool principal would drag away in his Jeep and as soon as turning into the parking lot, would put out his cigarette, and occasionally be seen mashing out his butt in the parking lot. Cool cat, but definitely a bit of shame in his habit, as he in two years, rid himself of it.

It makes me wonder. Woudl it be immortal, corrupt, or illegal for a teacher to puff away at a vaporizer in front of their class as earnestly, or timidly as a professor sips away at their coffee in front of their students?

At the biggest public community college in Southern California, my friend's professor did just that. Or maybe we're so liberal here that anything goes except crystal meth.

I would stay clear, at this point, of vaping in front of students that are not of legal age to smoke, drink, etc. And it has nothing to do with morality. PV's are for adults and I think we should work to gain acceptance of them in resturants, etc. But doing it in front of under age kids this early in the game of vaping won't help the cause. Now in college, that's a different story.

That'd be like drinking a non-alcoholic beer while teaching high school or elementary school. That'd be kinda ridiculous. Why even make a reference to it in front of kids? Even though ecigs are PVs, there is still the reference. And in that professional position you are a role model. Drink all the O-Doul's you want, and vape all you want, but should anyone really do that in front of kids at their job? I support the idea that vaping is probably at the same level of drinking coffee, but there is still a quite obvious reference to smoking involved... you can't wait until you aren't in front of them at your job as their authority? (the hypothetical "you", I'm not directing this towards anyone)

I have no objections, though, for a professor at a university, if their boss doesn't care.

I also don't think it is immoral to pee, but there is a time and place for everything, especially considering a professional environment involving children.

There's an idea! Just let them vape while peeing! (in an appropriate location)

Oh, when I pick my kids up from school, the younger one goes to play in the playground for a while and the older one sits around with me pretty much waiting. I would never dream of vaping anywhere near there. The kids don't know what's going on they would just think I was smoking. Now, MY kids know I smoke-always have. I do vape inside now, so that's different, but I don't vape around other peoples kids.
