Good job Matt!

A good, quick piece mentioning the ECA and Electronic Cigarettes.

Good one. I thought it was significant to see the HR person say that they have found that allowing vaping increases productivity!

I've been thinking the ECA should also focus a bit more on this that, and also the loss of productivity resulting from smokers being forcing smokers to endure bad weather, and getting sick.

I had to laugh at the last "anti-expert" saying that people will continue to smoke and use eCigs. They don't want eCig manufacturers to claim they are a smoking cessession device, either.

Great find - and it shows that our ECA IS doing all it can - I, for one, appreciate the work....keep it up, guys.

The reporting did get a few things wrong - again, though...

These HAVE been tested..... the tests simply weren't "good" enough (the NZ study for Ruyan - the liquid testing by TW, etc). What they should be saying is that there haven't been any long range tests done....and never will be because of impossible standards.
And anytime the bring up the fruity flavors attracting children....grrrrrr!

This was a relatively responsible piece. We're not going to get the raves we're looking for via the news outlets. Their job for this type of story is to report in a hundred words or less.

Know what we need? Somebody, some movie star legend maybe, to whip out an e-cig on the big screen. The co-star then asks; "WTF is that?".

Bam! Just like that we'd have the latest craze.

Since e-smoking can't claim health benefits (like lowering insurance rates for employers who allow its use), it must focus on two other factors:

1. Increased worker productivity, as pointed out above. How many working hours each year do smokers waste sucking smoke into their lungs? Keep them happy by allowing e-smoking on the job, while they continue productive work.

2. Environmental benefits. Imagine intersections not clogged with discarded cigarette butts from inconsiderate smokers. Imagine butts not floating into streams and oceans where they kill marine life. Imagine clean air anywhere.

Those can be pushed as public benefits. Just stay far away from "healthier" and "safer" since neither can be proved at this time.

Ha ha.. yes the idea of getting more productivity out of the workers will really appeal to them.

I am just so sick and tired of the notion that kids will like them because of the flavors. What a bunch of BS! Where is a kid getting the money to use PV's? When does anyone talk about parental supervision? Just regulate PV's like they do analogs. You can't purchase if you are under 18. If you are over 18, you are old enough to decide for yourself.

I like the comment at the end about vapers continuing to use both. I mean its not like parts can be hard to get or anything<sic>.
