Just wanted to suggest you might want to give this a bump ever so often, just to keep it in front of folks...

Is it possible to just email everyone a list of the new rules?
I don't know where to find the rules.
(bump)

never mind- I found the rules but now I'm worried about the time I left a link to a YouTube or other Yahoo video.
Are we not allowed to leave links at all unless they belong to us?
Am I in trouble if I did it before this new list came out?

(bump)

moonlight i think when it comes to video review and such the vid links are fine and no if it was done prior to the new rules you all should be fine.

Thanks, I was getting worried. I had that first week in the forum going through nicotine withdraw and got a little crazy and now(with my nicotine juice) I'm trying to prove God exists in the religion section and that took finding some preachers on video... I promise to be good
And if I'm not the devil made me do it

Can i just add that these rules are just a suggestion , they are not yet being enforced and they are up for discussion and suggestion from every member of the forum.

I took a set of rules from a highly popular International Hobby forum with a membership of over 250,000 members. These rules have been applied to that forum succesfully since it's foundation in 1996 and i have been a member since 2004. I did modify certain aspects to house the infraction and warning system used by ECF ( i don't know a great deal about it ). Obviously being an e-smoking forum a majority if not all members will be classed as adults in the eyes of the law , where as the hobby forum is for all age groups so some of the suggested rules can be modified to show that, but that is the whole point of this process.

Like I said to Dnakr , How moderators conduct themselves on the boards is for SJ to police and I nor any other member have no input into that.

what i have asked SJ to do is include in the closed rule suggestion thread an explaination of how the warning system works, how long infraction points last and how they are accumulated it also spells out how to make an appeal to any moderator decision.
The table i have sent SJ may be edited by him to show how his system works as I am not aware of the specifics of it all , but like i say it does answer some questions that have been asked here about moderator discretion and the appeal process.

I'd just like to add , Anything in the new rule set that states " WE " as in " we do not allow....." or " we allow this " should be replaced with "ECF".

"ECF does not allow"

I think that would suppress the 'us and them' viewpoint a little.

Point(s) taken Apo - and thanks for the list.

Yes, the infraction system does need a bit of explaining - I'll sort that one out as soon as we have a clearer picture.
